Blogging from A to Z Challenge April/(2016) Letter D

How are you today? Before I begin my day I wanted to let you know, I am back for the Blogging from A to Z April (2-16) Challenge, and it is time for the letter D. Can I ask you what your favorite items are that start with the letter D and why this thing is your favorite?  Is the question something online if so come and share a link with us so we can check it out.

I thought I would show you two loves of my life which start with the letter d my husband David and my fantastic Nephew David look at that beautiful smile and his eyes are so blue they are my grannies eyes. I love him, and David is the best child ever other than Suzzane and Charlie. I am so proud of the man he has become, and David is the best dad ever to my niece and nephew. As well as a great role model for Charlie.

As he was growing up, I never thought that would be the case as he always said he didn’t want children. When David mentioned to me his wife was pregnant  I never would have imagined that he would be a hands-on dad. Although he is and much more than his wife is at times. Isn’t it funny to know David and my nephew are both David’s? Here is a fun tidbit for you like Charlie my nephew David is named after my Uncle Chuck. Uncle Chuck was one of the greatest men who ever walked the face of the Earth. I wish him so much, and I am jealous of Suzzane as they are together.

Debbie and David M.

From this picture, you would think David is her Debbie’s son, but that is not true he is mine all mine.

A page with a letter D tribute wouldn’t be complete without a shout out to my sister Debbie and also my granny Dorie, unfortunately, I don’t have a picture for Dorie, but she was mine and my daughters best friend. Granny Dorie was the best granny anyone could have ever had. Also, everyone knows’s my daughter Suzzane although what you might not know is her first name was Deborah. You see Suzzane is named not only after my sister but also my Aunt Sue.

As you travel through the #AtoZ Challenge, I thought Charlie and I would provide a snack and drink for you. There are all types of Donughts we could have shared, but I wanted to share Biscuit Donughts with you. I learned to make these when I was in school taking Home Economics. Monday-naughty donuts Suzzane’s favorite and something I need to make for Charlie and David.  I am not sure, they have ever had the opportunity to try them out. Have you and if so what did you like or dislike about them and why?

With these, you will need a drink, and I know it should be milk but today is the “Letter D,” and it wouldn’t be complete without mine and my mom’s favorite drink which is DR Pepper. Although we like to be different and we both loved Cherry Dr. Pepper which my mother in law does as well.  I wish I were able to visit another favorite place of mine and that is Dairy Queen as I would like to have picked up a Cherry Dr. Pepper as they make the best ones around anywhere at anytime.

I have a question which Dr. Peppers slogans do you remember?  10 2 and 4?? Or “I’m a Pepper, He’s a Pepper, We’re a Pepper.”, “Be a Pepper.”, “Wouldn’t you like to be Pepper too?” “King of Beverages.” For other Dr. Pepper Slogans visit this link and come back and tell us which ones you remember and why.

  1. My favorite “D” is a David too – my first born 🙂

My favorite food beginning with D is duck (preferably of the crispy variety in those little Chinese pancakes)

Favorite drink Dom Perignon when it’s a celebration or more frequently Diet Cola

  2. Ha ha, Glenda! Cute post!
Nice shout outs to your family. So many start with D!
My sister used to make those donuts, and I love that slogan for Dr. Pepper. I remember my dear friend who has now passed away used to sing it when he wanted me to make me laugh. =)
Thanks for a good start to my morning!
    Amy

  3. It is nice to share a special song like that with a friend. My husband has one for us and it makes me crack up. I have been blessed with many “D” but did not mention the most important one which is my dad.
