#A to Z Blogging Challenge Day 3 April 3rd “Letter C”

Today is Day 3 in the #A to Z Challenge.  I would like to share with you my favorite item/person that starts with the letter  “C”.  I am sure you can guess what it is. Although if you can’t then I will let you know my most favorite thing to start with the letter C is my son Charles Wayne Cates aka  “Charlie/Wiggles”. Or if you ask Charlie Bones as this is what his grandmother nicknamed him because he is so skinny.

Isn’t he adorable?? Why, thank you I think so as well. Even with shorts and work boots on. What can I say other than his grandfather purchased the boots for him and he wanted to wear them. So this was one of those times you pick your battles and fighting over shoes isn’t something I wanted to fight about. So off we went to the Wrestling Watch party.

Next,  I would like to share a drink with you and snack as you travel around the internet today.

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

2 cups butter
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
4 eggs
4 ounces chocolate chips
2 teaspoons of vanilla
1 Hershey bar, grated
4 cups flour
3 cups chopped nuts
5 cups blended oatmeal *

*blended oatmeal: measure and blend in a blender to a fine powder

Cream butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add chips, candy and nuts. Roll into balls and place 2″ apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for six minutes at 375°F. Makes 112 cookies, but recipe can be halved.

With our snack Charlie and I  thought we would have a glass of milk. Would you like to join us or is there another drink you prefer when having cookies?

As for you I thought you might enjoy this fun drink that starts with the letter “C” because some adults like David prefer alcohol with there cookies. Although, I am not one of those people. Are you?

Cosmopolitanism Cocktail Recipe

1 oz vodka

Shake vodka, triple sec, lime and cranberry juice vigorously in a shaker with ice. Strain into a martini glass, garnish with a lime wedge on the rim, and serve.

    1. If you make the cookies let me know. As for Wiggles he can be cute but also a pain at times. But I love him no matter what.

  1. You can’t go wrong with cookies on “C”-day! And those sound like tasty cookies (chocolate chips are always a winner with me). I’m not a big vodka fan, but if someone bought me a cosmopolitan, I’d try it. The mix sounds interesting. 🙂 Good post, Glenda–thanks for sharing.

    1. Your welcome and I would buy you a Cosmo and share cookies with you. As it would be nice to have a new friend to hang out with.
