I would like to let you know you can homeschool for free if your careful although at times you will need to pay for things or to purchase school supplies. So I would like to remind you just like in school you will need to set funds aside when you decide to homeschool your children.
Not only will children need school supplies but teachers will as well. Along with money because you might decide to take your students on Field Trips and you will need funds to get inside the attractions as well as lunches.
Even though there may be out of pocket expenses at times, you can still homeschool mostly for free if you spend time researching the items you need for your students. One thing I would like to point out is if your considering homeschooling to create a budget and include extra money for unexpected expenses.
For most students, you can expect to spend up to $300 per year, and this doesn’t include the incedentials you will find you want or need. For our family, I worked hard to set aside $500 per school year as this will cover not only the books and school supplies we need but also Field Trips and lunches when we are away from home.
As you work on your budget and someone asks why you need this much money when public school is free, and you can remind them when your child was in school that you had to pay for book rentals, club fees, school lunches and also money for Dances and things the school holds your students would want to attend.
Also, your clothing budget will go down as your students will not need as many clothes and can attend school there PJs and still get there work done. Or you can watch sales and pick up items off clearance racks as your students will not want to match every child in their classroom.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie, and David Cates
