Today I would like to ask you when did the “world stop turning for you”? Because for a lot of people if felt that way on September 11, of 2001. When the Twin Towers in New York City was hit by a plane.
And yes, I agree that was a horrible time and not something I will ever forget. But it wasn’t the day the world stopped turning for me. As the world stopped turning for me ot happened on November 28th, 2004 when my daughter was hit and killed.
Suzzane loved New York and was able to go and visit it and to actually see the Twin Towers in person. So I am so glad she wasn’t here on Sept. 11, 2001 as I know it would have killed her.
So today I know I am late but I would like to thank everyone who lost a family member in the “BOMBING” as well as everyone who helped out afterwards. And that isn’t just the policemen, fireman, and EMT’s but the civilians who stepped up and helped out.
Today I would like to ask everyone to take a second and to listen to a song written by Alan Jackson called “Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning”.
Now, I would like to let you know where I was September 11th, I had called for a cab to take me to work which was at a mall called North Hills Mall. Which has since closed. As I walked in I didn’t know anything about the Towers being hit until I walked into work and my boss was watching it on TV.
We was at work for about 30 minutes when mall security walked in and announced we was closing as they was afraid that the people who bombed New York might have others out there and they might hit local malls.
So I went home and set on the couch and just watched the TV not really thinking as I was numb. Until it dawned on me a friend Stevie Suzzane’s Bog Sister from Big Brothers and Sister was a Airline Stewardess and her husband Kevin a insurance adjuster who travels through New York might be in New York as they was always going through there for work.
That is when it hit me someone I knew and loved might have lost there lives in the bombing. So I raced to the phone and started calling there home and there was no answer. All I could think of was the worst and that they was in New York and might be hurt or worse yet dead.
I thank the lord as both Stevie and Kevin was OK and neither of them was in New York.Although Stevie came through right New York right after the bombing happened and she says it was the most horrific thing she had ever seen.
So Please make sure and always keep your loved ones close as I didn’t lose anyone in New York but I did in the Oklahoma Bombing and it was just as horrific. And if it can happen in New York or Oklahoma then it can happen here or where you live as well.
