World Cocktail Day

The Mommies Reviews

Did you know Wednesday, May 13 is World Cocktail Day?

Calendar for each day on may 13. Greeting card. Holiday - World ...

As we celebrate World Cocktail Day this year, we raise a glass to entrepreneurs doing the right thing. Meet Christopher and Camille Bently.  Environmental enthusiasts, renovationist savants, and Estate Distillery founders and owners (they prefer Proprietor and Proprietress).  Christopher used to be on the board of Burning Man. Camille oversaw an Art Gallery.

Today, they’re saving the world with one LEED environmentally friendly restoration at a time, taking care of their staff during this pandemic, and getting our first responders the crucial hand sanitizer and disinfectant they need. Oh, and they’re working on an old school inspired Whisky (no ‘e’.)

For World Cocktail Day, this year we cheers on many things; our health, the safety of our family and friends and the environment we are living in.  Their Bently Heritage Estate Distillery in Minden, NV has created their one-of-a-kind cocktail called “The Elusive Cocoloupe.” Made with the Estate Distillery’s Award-Winning Source One Vodka.  Created by their Artisan Mixologist Lucas Huff, this drink raises a glass to those protecting the earth, while looking ahead to the little things we can enjoy to give us a taste of summer.

The Elusive Cocoloupe by Bently Heritage Estate Distillery’s Lucas Huff

    1.5 oz Source One Vodka

      0.75 oz Lemon juice

   0.75 Orange juice

  0.75 Coco Lopez Coconut Cream

0.5 oz Amaro Nepéta

2 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters

Three 1-inch cubes of Fresh Cantaloupe

Top with Soda●

Brulé Cantaloupe & Micro Peppermint Garnish

Getting into why this drink is so amazing, Huff says “This drink is as interesting as it is delicious. Fresh cantaloupe and coconut flavors are combined with citrus to brighten things up a bit now more than ever. Amaro Nepéta and peychaud’s bitters are added to boost herbaceous notes and give the drink a nice level of complexity, add some spiritz and a candied chunk of cantaloupe to bring everything home.”

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
