I used to watch movies all day long. I never get tired of sitting in the Theater. In fact, Suzzane and my nephew David and I would go to the Dollar Movies in the morning and still be at the Theater in the evenings when it closed.
Since Suzzane has passed away and my nephew grew up, I don’t go see that many movies. Even though David and Charlie ask me all the time if there is a movie I would like to see. I usually say no, because they don’t like going to the theaters and prefer watching movies at home which is fine but not as much fun.
If there is something Charlie and David want to see I will go with them to see those movies and at times I do find movies I would like to see as well and most of the time they will go with me. This month seeing movies has changed because I saw a Trailer for a new movie called Wonder. Julia Roberts is one of the main characters in the movie and one of the reasons I would like to see Wonder.
With my Birthday being Nov. 4th and Wonder coming out on November 17th I mentioned to Charlie and David I wanted tickets to see Wonder for my Birthday. Through patience and perseverance, I was able to go to AMC Theaters last week. We did see Wonder which Charlie decided he wanted to see it just as much as I did. Although it took showing David the Trailer for David to decide he wanted to watch Wonder as well.
After seeing the movie Wonder I can’t wait to get the book written by R. J. Palacio because I want to see how the novel compares to the movie. The new book will give Charlie something new to read. I’m telling everyone I would like to have the DVD for Wonder when it comes out on DVD. I will need 2 copies one for myself to put up and one for Charlie, David and I to watch.
Here is other merchandise I found which features Wonder. I think these products would make perfect Christmas Gifts for my family. Once you see them you might think they would for your family as well.
Wonder NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE STARRING JULIA ROBERTS, OWEN WILSON, AND JACOB TREMBLAY!
Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller Wonder and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.
The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.
I won’t describe what I look like. Whatever you’re thinking, it’s probably worse.
August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face.
Wonder, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others.
These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.
“Wonder is the best kids’ book of the year,” said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy.
In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship.
Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.
