A couple weeks ago I shared David’s, Charlie and my outing to Checkered Past Winery to see Trigg Watson show Wine and Magic. All three of us loved the show and we can’t wait to return. I was thinking about things this morning I started to think Checkered Past Winery and Wine and Magic would be the perfect Girls Night Out.
I just need to contact my friends and see if any of them are free this weekend because there is a show on Friday and Saturday at 7 pm and also 9:30 pm we could attend. Our wine pub is located in Suite 008 of the South Side on Lamar building. Our entrance is on Belleview St. across from the NYLO Hotel back parking lot. We are 2 blocks from the Cedars Dart station.

Checkered Past Winery is an urban wine pub featuring quality Texas wines (including our own), over 20 locally-brewed craft beers, and some of the best wines from around the country and the world. The menu consists of specialty bites with an Italian accent, that pair perfectly with wine or beer. It is located in the basement of the historic Southside on Lamar building, a 100-year-old Sears and Roebuck distribution center.
Co-founder, owner, and winemaker Sandro DiSanto is a first generation American and 100% Sicilian, carrying on his grandfather’s’ winemaking tradition. What started as a hobby turned into an obsession, which connected Sandro and his brother-in-law, Scott Relyea, who co-founded and designed Checkered Past Winery. Carolynne Chancellor, grape grower/vineyard owner joined the two as co-owner to bring to you THE Urban Winery of Dallas. The owners of Checkered Past Winery believe in drinking local and supporting Texas family farmers, as well as their fellow Texas winemakers and brewers.
Checkered Past Winery has a casual, unpretentious atmosphere, a laid back attitude, and was founded on the principle of making wine approachable for everyone. No wine snobs allowed! In fact, the motto is, “Drink what you like”.
