  1. It’s exciting. Taking part in cycling events where you get to be a part of something where you could even win a medal or a trophy is fun. Often hobbies like this seem to be reserved for children, so being able to involve yourself in a cycling club with like minded people is a great way to have fun. All you need to do is make sure that you’ve got SportsCover Direct insurance and you’re good to go. You can then involve yourself in some events that allow you to win something and feel like you’re part of something fun.
  2. You’ll feel motivated to ride while you join the cycling club. You feel more motivated to get on your bike and ride. Even when the mornings are wet and rainy, or when you don’t particularly fancy getting on the back of your bike. Your team members are going to encourage you to do it. The social aspect alone of a cycling club allows you to feel like you’re part of something. The motivation that you get from the club members is going to keep you going and you can build some really great friendships off the back of it.
  3. You’ll be around people who like the same things that you do. If you are enjoying cycling then you know that being around other people who enjoy it is going to make you feel good. Different areas, different backgrounds and different levels of experience can bring together one passion. You may not be able to talk about the rides, the bike accessories or the routes that you take with other people at home because they may not understand your passion for it. But you’re cycling friends will.
  4. It’s a safe thing to do in numbers. You can cycle at any time of the day or night, but it’s always much safer to do it when you’re going in a group. Similarly, if you want to go for a walk in the evening, it’s better to do it with a friend than to do it alone. Mobile phone coverage can be quite patchy, so if you get into a bit of trouble when you’re cycling, your  friends are there to help.
  5. It’s a good way to get out of your comfort zone. You’re going to discover new routes, new lanes and new paths, and these can often only be accessible by bike. By pooling all of your knowledge and exploring together, you’ll be able to get out of your comfort zone and discover new places and new ways of cycling. You could go from cycling for leisure to cycling for competition.
