This week as I was sitting her in front of the computer working the phone would ring and there are times I won’t answer it As I let it go to voice mail and call them back later. But this time I answered it and it was my mother in law. Now we see here or talk to her a couple times a week as she lives right around the corner from us. I picked up the phone as I knew she had a tooth pulled on Monday.
Sherry ask what are you doing and if I say working she will just say okay and hang up. So I said I am not doing anything what about you. She says I am by myself and I need to go pay for the pool. Would you and Charlie like to go with me and get into the hot tub. Now mind you I was working and I wanted to say no, not at this time. But I could hear God giving me a nudge so I said yes, we would go.
As we drove out to the park both Charlie and I noticed she wasn’t pays as close attention as she should be and was letting the phone distract her so we have to talk to David about this as I wouldn’t want her to get hurt. Now, before you ask couldn’t she go on her own and the answer is no, as last time she almost slipped. So someone has to be with her at all times is what Davids dad has said. Or we have to cancel our membership to the pool.
So we come home and Granny Sherry goes home and once David arrives we go down to check on her and make sure she is resting. As we walk in we notice the grass needs mowing and her and papa can’t do it themselves. So Charlie volunteers to mow it with his dads help. Only my niece who lives there says we have someone coming to mow it. As this gentleman needs to make some money.
My question for you this morning is if her and her husband are staying there and not paying rent or purchasing food why can’t they mow the yard? Or pay for the gentleman to mow the grass? Why does granny and papa have to pay for it to be mowed? Why doesn’t Alex cook dinner so granny doesn’t have to and why don’t they watch there own child so granny and papa doesn’t have to? Because if things don’t change soon and the boys there son’s don’t step in I am going to have a come to “JESUS” meeting with Adam and Alice and kick them out myself because they are not going to take advantage of granny and papa.
I say this because again yesterday as I was working the phone rings and its granny asking if Charlie is busy. I let her know he isn’t and she says I need to clean out my car and I want to vacuum it out. Would Charlie come and help me with this Please. I ask Charlie and he agrees to help his grandmother so we both get dressed and wait for her to arrive. Granny drives up and we head to Fuel City. Once there we clean out the car and as we do we find food and toys my niece Payton had left in the car.
Now her mother sees this and knows both Granny and Papa don’t like there cars being dirty so why didn’t she take the time to clean it out as it is her daughters mess? Or make Payton take the trash to the trash can. As she is 3 years old and it is time she starts to clean up after herself. And if Alex didn’t want to clean the car out or didn’t have time why can’t her husband do it? Why do Charlie and I have to help not that we mind.
So that evening we run back down to Davids moms to pick up a shelf she had for my deck. As I am standing in the kitchen with her while she is cooking she almost falls as she is tired and Adam is in the bedroom and will not come out to help make dinner. I am so mad I want to scream but I bite my tongue and just stand there encase she needs something or she does fall. As she says she doesn’t need help.
Once she is finished I go into the living room to tell Davids dad goodbye when I find out he had fallen off the truck he works on twice this week. Once on his knee and once on his back. So he has decided to retire. Which is the best thing he can do for himself and Granny. As they need to spend time together before they are gone. So all I can say to David’s family is it is time you all grow up and stand on your own two feet as Granny and Grandpa are going on the road.
Today, I would like to let you know I am blessed to be a part of this family. As Granny Sherry has become like my mom since mine has passed away and one of mine and Charlies best friends. I am also grateful for David’s dad because when I can’t reach my dad because he is out of State I have Davids dad to help me. So when God picked David for me he picked the perfect family for Charlie. As he has 2 sets of the most wonderful grandparents ever.
