What are your plans for today? If you don’t have any and your in the Dallas/Fort Worth area I would like to invite you to join Charlie and a friend of mine Debbie. Were going to go look for Garage Sales this morning.
Now, you might ask what were looking for at Garage Sales. For me nothing in particular. Debbie is looking for items to decorate her home with. I could use items for the yard.
Once were done we’ll be having lunch again at Ponchos which was our place when we were growing up while in school with Taco Inn or Dairy Queen (DQ).
If we were shopping at North East Mall in Hurst, Texas as kids we would have lunch at Arby’s. Where we would get a a sandwich she introduced me and they no, longer carry and I miss so much.
As parents who ended up with kids we would take them to Six Flags in Arlington, Texas. While there we would have lunch at Cheddar’s and Debbie introduced me to the Cookie Monster.
It looks like life has come full circle. Were out again once a week creating memories built around food. The only difference is Suzzane is now in Heaven and Kaitlin has his own family and doesn’t speak to his mom.
Although we have Charlie to go with us to lunch and he loves Ponchos just as much as Debbie and I do. Its just sad we can’t get Debbie’s daughter Karlee to come with us as I would love for Charlie to meet her.
As well as Debbie’s husband Curtis as he was the Preacher at Suzzane’s funereal and without him I don’t think I would have made it through the services.
So there is one more tip about a restaurant Debbie and I wouldn’t be who we are without and that is Don Pablo’s on Rufe Snow. Were we used to have lunch a couple times a week.
Off I go to get dressed as Debbie will be here at 7:30. If f this is to early for you and your hungry come meet us for lunch at 11 am at Ponchos Restaurant on Rufe Snow in North Richland Hills. Texas.
I love yard sales and thrift stores! There is nothing like saving money and having something that people loved. I’ve never been mad at a buffet either.
We had a lot of fun yesterday and even had some God moments. I can’t wait to do it again. I also haven’t been mad at a Buffet disappointed but not mad.
I remember all the places I went to with friends back in high school. A new MacDonald’s had just opened in town and the French fries were hand cut in the kitchen. (We had a friend who worked there part time). That tells you how many decades ago that was!
Yes, it does and if truth be known I never new McDonald’s to cut there own French Fries. Although I love there Fries if there hot there is nothing better than hand cut fries. As for decades ago this morning I feel like I was born in the Cave days. Have a Blessed Saturday and thank you for stopping by.
