Good morning!
For Valentine’s Day, Mike Miller let me know his wife and Mike will be making chocolate fondue for there kids. The preparation is easy, and this snack provides a fun way for us to indulge in some Valentine’s Day sweetness.
Before you object, yes, I know not everyone has a fondue pot. However, it’s officially 2020, and fondue pots can be picked up on Amazon for twenty to forty dollars! There’s no need to get a giant fondue fountain for you and your family. A small fondue pot will be just as delicious.
What can you dip in fondue? Pretty much anything. Fresh fruit is great (strawberries, cherries, banana slices) but you can also use other treats. Rice krispies, cookies, marshmallows, you name it. Everything tastes better dipped in chocolate.
For the chocolate recipe, keep it simple. All you really need is chocolate and whole milk. Optionally, you can add butter (for thickness) or sea salt and vanilla (for taste). Experiment, and have fun!
We like to use a mix of semi-sweet chocolate with milk chocolate. This provides some of the bitter chocolate bite without being too tart for the kids. The milk chocolate helps balance it out and provide richness.
To prepare, all you have to do is melt the chocolate in the microwave then mix it with the other ingredients. Once its warm the fondue machine will keep the chocolate at a suitable dipping temperature.
