Good morning, How are you? This week Charlie and I will be practicing our Handwriting and would like to share these Valentine’s Day Writing Prompts for 4th Grade that Charlie and I will b using in our classroom.
It’s almost Valentine’s Day! Why not incorporate some of the love of this holiday into your homeschool writing curriculum? Prompts inspired by the love of family, friends, and faith. Here are some Valentine’s Day writing prompts for 4th grade you can use with your kids.
- Write a letter to a family member (mom, dad, sibling, cousin, grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc.) telling them how thankful you are to have them in your life.
- Write an acrostic poem using a loved one’s name. (Write their name vertically (up and down) down the side of a page and write something nice about them for each letter of their name.)
- Make a list of kind things you can do for others.
- Describe your favorite Valentine’s Day candy.
- Make a list of all the people who love you.
- Make a list of all the people you love.
- Write a story about a time with your family where you felt especially loved.
- Write a poem beginning with 1 Corinthians 13:4, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.”
- Draw a flower with petals. Write people, places, things, or ideas (nouns) you love in each of the petals.
- A metaphor is a comparison of two things with something in common. An example would be “Hope is a soaring bird.” Write your own “Love is. . .” metaphor poem or paragraph.
- What does love mean to you?
- How do you experience God’s love in your life?
- What is your favorite love song? Use words from the song to inspire your own lyrics.
- Who is your best friend? Make a Valentine’s Day card for them telling them how much you love them.
- Look up ways to say “I love you” in different languages. Make a list.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
