and Career Fair Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 12 and Oct. 13

Who: Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Dallas/Fort Worth campus in Irving is inviting prospective students, alumni,
employers, businesses, community leaders, and media to three fall events with support from several strategic
partners. This state-of-the-art facility features nearly 60,000 square feet of training space for core programs, which
include the Automotive, Diesel and Welding technology programs. UTI DFW Campus President Jesus Miranda and
his team will be hosting these major events.

What: Open House

UTI DFW will host an in-person and virtual Open House on Wednesday, Oct. 12, as part of a national UTI initiative.
This event, which is open to the public, is designed to give attendees an opportunity to learn more about UTI’s
programs, the demand for skilled trade workers, meet with UTI DFWs leaders and instructors, participate in live
demos, and tour the campus. Open House attendees will get an up-close look at exciting and rewarding career
opportunities in the industry. UTI guests will experience the following:
 Visits to hands-on training labs
 Personal interactions with UTI instructors and staff who are committed to student success
 Introductions to and discussions with employer partners.
 Participate in LIVE demos including but not limited to:
o Automotive dynamometer (a device that measures the force, torque, or power in a vehicle)
o Diesel Engines
o Virtual welders
 Learn why leading companies such as BMW, Sewell, and Peterbilt have ongoing, mutually beneficial
relationships with UTI.
Career Fair
UTI DFW will host a Career Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 12 and Thursday, Oct. 13. This event is an opportunity for
current students and alumni to learn about employment opportunities, as well as network with potential
employers. Employer partners who are participating in the Career Fair include Auto Nation, Bobcat of North Texas,
Convoy/Thermo King, Crown Lift Trucks, Sewell Automotive, Lithia Motors, MHC Kenworth, Park Place Dealerships,
Rush Truck Centers, Shoppa’s, Sunstate Equipment Co., Texas Department of Transportation, Sieman’s Energy, Holt
CAT.

Why: Career options for women in the skilled trade industries are growing in popularity and demand is great for more qualified technical workers. Universal Technical Institute is collaborating with IGNITE Worldwide to promote economic equality and workforce development by cultivating a diverse pipeline of talent and supporting a sustainable future for girls and their families.
With more than 146,000 combined job openings in the automotive, diesel and welding industries projected annually through 2030, 1 now is the time to introduce students to the educational experience UTI can provide, and training programs that can be completed in as little as 36 weeks. UTI’s Open House will enable prospective students, families, and members of the community to learn about career opportunities available to graduates who’ve trained with UTI.
