Let me tell you Fight Procrastination Day couldn’t have come at a better time as I hurt my leg the other day. For the past couple days I’ve been sitting on the couch doing nothing. It’s time to get up and at least get some work done because it isn’t going to do itself.
Fight Procrastination Day is today and its a day to get things done, a call to action.
To many people, procrastination is a way of life. The more difficult the action or decision, the easier it is to join the league of procrastinators. As a procrastinator, you are in very good company and you can even become a card carrying member of a Procrastinator’s club.
Today is a day to fight procrastination. Make a decision. Take action. Do it now. Do it today. It may be hard to do. But, you will be glad you did.
Now, all you have to do is stop procrastinating and decide to fight procrastination…today!

We found no factual information about this Holiday and there was an occasional reference to this day on September 7th but most sites celebrate Fight Procrastination Day each year on September 6th.
Labor Day First Monday of month
Dedicated in honor of the American worker, Labor Day is also appropriately called the “workingman’s holiday”. The holiday is dedicated to you in respect and appreciation for the work you do in or outside of the home, union or non-union, big company, small companies, or government. As long as you work somewhere at something, this Holiday is for you!
Did you know the first Labor Day held was celebrated in New York City on September 5, 1882 and was started by the Central Labor Union in New York City.
In 1884, Labor Day was moved to the first Monday in September where it is celebrated today. Labor Day quickly became popular and one State after another voted Labor Day as a Holiday. On June 28, 1894, the U.S. Congress voted Labor Day a National Holiday.
Labor Day is also viewed as the official end of Summer. While the Fall Equinox is still a couple of weeks away, kids go back to school and Summer vacations are over.
Labor Day tradition: This Holiday is celebrated with a day off and Union sponsored parades. Many people celebrate this weekend with one last picnic. Labor Day is also the date that many people close up the pool, and put away the boats.
McGuire or Maguire? Either Peter McGuire or Matthew Maguire is the Creator of Labor Day. Peter J. McGuire, was an active Labor Organizer. He was also general secretary of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners and a co-founder of the American Federation of Labor. He was believed to be the first to suggest a day be dedicated to American workers and their accomplishments.
Matthew Maguire however, was secretary of the Central Labor Union in New York in 1882 and many believed that Matthew Maguire proposed the Holiday Labor Day in 1882.
Canada, The United States and Bermuda are the only countries to celebrate Labor Day in September. All other countries celebrate Labor Day in May.
Read a Book Day is today. Stop what your doing and take time out of your busy life, and relax with a good book. Cozy up on a chair, indoors or out. It doesn’t matter where you read the book, as long as you can do so in a comfortable manner. If you doze off along the way, we won’t tell anyone.
Reading is a great lifetime Hobby. which offers many positive attributes. Reading is relaxing and therapeutic. Educational. Entertaining. And, a whole lot of other good things, too.
If you have young children, or elderly people in your home, take the time to read a book to them today. It is a wonderful time to bond with them and reading a book together creates pleasant, lasting memories.

Rosh Hashanah is the celebration of the Jewish New Year. In celebrating the New Year, Rosh Hashanah celebrates the creation of the world. It is also one of the Holiest days of the Jewish year.
Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah are the only Jewish Holidays that do not have roots in a Historical Religious event.
