Good morning, Welcome to our series sharing Unique Holidays: October 8th, 2021. Did you know that the 2nd week of October we celebrate National Fire Prevention Week and also Pet Peeve Week. I would like to ask you how you plan on celebrating these Holidays. Charlie and I plan on sharing our Pet Peeves with each other then visiting a Fire Station in our neighborhood. Would you like to come with us to the Fire Station?
National Fire Prevention Week is observed in the United States and Canada, during the week in which October 9 falls. In the United States, the first Presidential proclamation of Fire Prevention Week was made in 1925 by President Calvin Coolidge. The National Fire Protection Association continues to be the international sponsor of the week.

Pet Peeves can be something as small as someone changing their mind — a lot. Which might get on your nerves, and this week is the time to celebrate those Pet Peeves because its National Pet Peeve Week.
Merriam-Webster defines a Pet Peeve as “something that annoys or bothers a person very much” or a “a frequent subject of complaint.”
