Welcome to our series sharing Unique Holidays: October 18th, 2022. Today is National Meatloaf Day and also No Beard Day two holidays both David and Charlie plan on sitting out. Why I would be happy to celebrate National Meatloaf Day as its one of my favorite meals. How about you?
National Meatloaf Appreciation Day– always observed on October 18th
What’s for dinner? I know, let’s have a Meatloaf tonight! It’s time to celebrate National Meatloaf Day, an. This humble, if not healthy entree, has a special day all to its own. I betcha can’t wait to make a Meatloaf and serve it to your family. Meatloaf is a budget-friendly meal, that can use just about any meat. Hamburger is the most popular. Some recipes call for Pork, Veal, Turkey, or Deer and other game meat. Use whatever meat your family likes.
Meatloaf is the culinary butt of many jokes. However, we feel Meatloaf deserves a lot of respect and recognition with a celebration. Meatloaf may not be the healthiest meal you can eat, but Meatloaf sure tastes good. Meatloaf helps to stretch the family food budget, too. In times of high inflation, more and more people turn to Meatloaf.

To celebrate National Meatloaf Appreciation Day, dust off your favorite meatloaf recipe, cook dinner and watch your family wolf it down!

History and Origin of National Meatloaf Appreciation Day
National Meatloaf Appreciation Day was created by the wonderful folks at “Serious Eats” which they created in 2018.
We did not find any documentation confirming this to be a “National” day and we found no congressional records or presidential proclamation. This was not surprising. National Meatloaf Appreciation Day is a very new holiday and to date has received little recognition to date.
No Beard Day– always observed on October 18th
Did you know October 18th is No Beard Day? No Beard Day exists so you finally have a good reason to shave your beard. The question, is “do you want to shave your beard”? If not, you can always begin to grow your beard back tomorrow.
You’ve had a beard so long, that you don’t know what you’d look like without one. And, your lady friend isn’t so fond of your beard. Today brings the incentive you need, to shave your beard off and go without a beard for the first time in who knows when. Bare it all and show off your chin.
As you begin to shave, you have an important question to consider. Does the mustache go, too?
Have a happy and clean-shaven No Beard Day !!

- Ladies, take one last look. Shortly, you won’t recognize your man.
- Make sure to take before and after pictures.
History and Origin of No Beard Day
We did not find the creator, or the origin, of No Beard Day. We find it a little odd that No Beard Day is celebrated in October. Normally, people shave their beards in Spring, when warm weather approaches. Then, they grow Beard in the fall, as Winter nears. We’ve learned that not all wild and wacky holidays are logical.
