Unique Holidays: October 18th, 2021

The Mommies Reviews

It’s funny as I share our series celebrating Unique Holidays: October 18th, 2021: National Meatloaf Appreciation Day because yesterday my Mother in Law Sherry made my Father in Law and myself Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes and I had enough left for a Meatloaf Sandwich this morning.

If you like Meatloaf as much as I do and haven’t had time to make a Meatloaf for yourself or to pick on up at the Grocery Store or your favorite restaurant I still have Meatloaf left for dinner this evening and I wouldn’t mind sharing some with you.

What’s for dinner? How about Meatloaf!

Because it’s time to celebrate National Meatloaf Day which is here and now! Meatloaf is a humble, if not healthy entrée, which has a special Holiday all to its own. If your like me I bet you can’t wait to make Meatloaf to share with your family.

Did you know Meatloaf is a budget friendly meal, because you can use just about any type of Meat although Hamburger is by far the most popular Meat to make Meatloaf out of. If you prefer Pork there is recipes that call for Pork, or Veal and Turkey for those who want to eat healthy. Did you know you can even make Meatloaf from Deer or Game Meat. Which I will pass on. How about you?

Did you know Meatloaf is the culinary butt of many jokes but we feel Meatloaf deserves a lot of respect and a day of celebration. Meatloaf may not be the healthiest meal you can eat, but Meatloaf sure tastes good and Meatlaof certainly helps to stretch the family food budget, too.

To celebrate  National Meatloaf Appreciation Day, create your favorite Meatloaf recipe, and watch your family wolf dinner down and ask for seconds or thirds.

Origin of National Meatloaf Appreciation Day:

This Holiday was created by the wonderful folks at “Serious Eats” created in 2018.

Almost all food related Holidays are referred to as “National” because I guess we Americans like our food which shows.

Before you ask no, we didn’t find any documentation confirming National Meatloaf Day to be a “National” day and no, we didn’t find any congressional records or presidential proclamation either. This was not surprising.  National Meatloaf Appreciation Day as is very new Holiday and to date has received little recognition to date.

No Beard Day

Does your husband, boyfriend or significant other have Beard and with today being no beard day would they cut there beard off to celebrate today? Because David says he isn’t going to cut his Beard off to celebrate today so David will sit this Holiday out.

Before you ask me if I would ask David if he would cut his bead off and yes, I could and David would for me. But its not my choice as to David having a beard or not because its his face and he should be able to have a beard if he wants one. Just like me being able to do what I want with my hair.

No Beard Day exists so men finally have a good reason to shave there beards.

If your a man that has had a beard so long, you don’t know what you’d look like without one. And, your lady friend isn’t fond of your bear them today brings the incentive you need, to shave the beard off. Go without a beard for the first time in who knows when.

Bare it all and show off your chin because if you don’t like having a clean face then you can always grow your beard back.

History and Origin of No Beard Day:

We did not find the creator, or the origin, of National No Beard Day which we find it a little odd that No Beard Day is celebrated in October. Normally, people shave their beards in the Spring, because warm Weather approaches. Then they begin to grow Beards in the Fall, as Winter nears.

Thank you,
