The Mommies Reviews

Welcome to our series sharing Unique Holidays: June 29th, 2022. I would like to ask you to take a look at the holidays being celebrated today and let me know which holiday you most want to celebrate and why. If we had our Camera from storage Charlie and I would have taken a walk and took pictures to use in our homeschool art class. Would you like to join us on a walk and we can use our phones instead even though it isn’t the same as a camera.

Camera Day

Camera Day is best celebrated with pictures because pictures are invaluable memories of our lives or the world around us. Pictures tell stories and our memories and stories are captured by a camera. With digital technology, using a camera has never been easier. Cameras are built into cell phones, so you always have a camera with you, ready to record the moments of your life.

To many people, a camera is a vital tool to record important events in the family and in the world. Cameras captures the moment forever and cameras creates the memories that we share and look back upon. From the birth of a baby, to high school graduations, people take pictures. Year after year, cameras record family vacations, holidays and Christmas. Camera takes pictures of good times, and even bad times.

George Eastman is the “Father of Photography” but George Eastman didn’t invent photography he made many photographic inventions, and created the mass production that brought cameras into everyday use by millions, if not billions of people. At one point Kodak had so much of the camera and film market, that the company basically had a monopoly on the market. George Eastman’s most famous slogan “You take the picture, we do the rest.”

Celebrate Camera Day today in a memorable way using your digital camera to take photos of your friends and family and don’t forget to take plenty of selfies.

Did you know you can make a camera that costs nothing and it’s a great project for school especially homeschooling students. Or as a Boy or Girl Scout project, or just for fun. This camera is called the “Pinhole Camera”.

A shoe box is infamous for storing pictures and this shoe box can also be converted into a camera. Take a shoe box and poke a pinhole in the middle of one end. Cover the pinhole with a piece of black tape. In a completely dark room, place a large piece of unexposed film on the inside of the end opposite the pinhole. Re-close the cover of the shoe box. Now, take a picture in a snap!

The History and Origin of International Mud Day:

In Nepal, where International Mud Day began, the intention of the original event was to enrich the lives of 58 orphans, by getting them outdoors to enjoy the environment. After splashing in the mud, the Orphans moods were much improved.
