Good morning, how are you I wanted to welcome you to our series sharing Unique Holidays: June 27th, 2022. Would you take a look at the Holidays being celebrated today and let me know which holiday you most want to share and why. For me I have a Onion and for dinner this evening I’m going to make Pan Fried Steak with Onions and Fried Potato’s with Onions which neither Charlie and David will eat. Would you like to have dinner with me?
Onions, gives us something to cry about especially if you’re cutting fresh Onion’s.
The National Onion Association (NOA) created National Onion Day to memorialize the creation of their organization on this day in 1913. Don’t you think it’s great that they did this? At the same time, we’d like to propose an expansion of the purpose of this holiday, to make the holiday more relevant to everyone.
Let’s enjoy this holiday, as a day to celebrate growing Onions, along with eating Onions.
If you’re a gardener, celebrate today by celebrating and pampering your Onion plants. Weed the Onions and apply a dose of fertilizer, then give the Onions a good drink of water. Your Onions will respond to the love you give them by growing bigger Onion bulbs.
All of us can enjoy eating Onions and there is no shortage of Onion recipes because love Onions. We use Onions to flavor foods, and as a recipe itself, which you will find in Onion Rings. Today is the day to eat onions for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For breakfast, put Onions in Eggs, or have an Onion Bagel. For lunch, have a bowl of Onion Soup with your Sandwich. For dinner put slice of Onion on your Hamburger. If your still hungry select a Meat that goes well with Onions which for me it would be a Round Steak.
Onions are a $6 billion industry.
If you don’t get your fill of onions on National Onion Day, you’re in luck. National Onion Ring Day was just a few days ago. Did you have Onion Rings because I didn’t get to which stinks…
The History and Origin of National Onion Day: Is a new holiday, which was first celebrated on June 27th, 2019. Before we began researching this holiday, we couldn’t understand why this gardening type of holiday would be celebrated in June. The planting season for Onion Bulbs and sets is early Spring and the harvest time for most areas of the Country is July.
Our research identified the National Onion Association (NOA) as the creator of this new holiday and they created the holiday for a very specific reason to memorialize NOA’s formation on June 27th, 1913.
We did not find any documentation confirming this to be a “National” holiday and we found no congressional records or presidential proclamation.
Sunglasses Day is a shady day for our eyes.
Summer is in full swing and the Sun is high in the sky which is blindingly bright. A pair of UV protection Sunglasses is definitely in order.
Why do people wear sunglasses?
- Have you want ever wanted to be a movie star? They all wear Sunglasses. So don a pair and act like a movie star.
- If you’re looking to hide then grab a pair of Sunglasses and travel unseen through the streets.
- A little espionage, eh!?
- Sunglasses can help you make a fashion statement.
- A few people wear Sunglasses to protect there eyes from the harmful rays of the Sun.
We know Sunglasses can protect our eyes from harmful UV rays and our Optician will tell you that Sunglasses with UV protection, will help to avoid Cataracts. Optician also report that UV rays can be stronger in the Winter, as the Sun’s rays hit you on the way down and as it is reflected back up from the Snow..
Thank you,
