There’s a holiday for just about anything and everything. So, why not have a special day to celebrate Prunes? The easy answer is “because we can”. While we didn’t create this wrinkly day, we’d like to join you in celebrating National Prune Day.
Why would anyone eat Prunes? They certainly aren’t attractive and in case you didn’t know it, Prunes are a Fruit. They’re dried up, wrinkly old Plums. This Fruit is tasty, with a brown Sugar or Molasses like flavor.
For those who like Prunes, they are usually eaten as a dried Fruit. Many people also enjoy Prune juice, especially when the digestive system is backed up. Prunes are high in fiber and Vitamin A.
Prunes are loaded with Cancer fighting Antioxidants. If you don’t like Prunes, you can still celebrate this holiday. Just don’t tell anyone that you didn’t eat Prunes.
Did You Know? Prunes beat out Blueberries for #1 having the highest level of Antioxidants. I didn’t know that and neither did Charlie or David.
For all that ails you…… Prunes can do a lot for you. They’re best known for aiding and regulating the digestive system, helping you to stay “on the go”. Prunes provide many other health benefits.
As previously mentioned, the high levels of Antioxidants helps to fight Cancer. Prunesare good for your vision, helping to avoid Macular Degeneration and Night B lindness. Sounds like David and i should start eating Prunes which I can’t see happening.
Prunes are good for your Cardiovascular system and, promotes healthy Bones, and also fights Anemia. Prunes might help us combat Health issues allowing us to be healthier.
If you’ve never eaten Prunes, were not surprised. Why don’t you use National Prune Day, to try them!? You just might like them. But don’t count on my trying them with you. Unless its a Prune Danish and I might.
History and Origin of National Prune Day:
National Prune Day was created in 1988., however, we could only find one single reference to this day. It’s utterly amazing for a Holiday dating back over thirty years, to have so little known about it. We suspect all other references have shriveled up and dried.

Smile Power Day is today, feel the power. Give everyone you see a big, friendly, “I like you” smile. You never know, you’re warm smile just might turn someone’s day right around…for the good!
Love may make the world go round, but, a smile makes the world a happy place. A smile is a powerful thing and best of all, it’s contagious. However, we do note that in order to be effective, a smile must be sincere. People can see right through phony or forced smiles.
Spend the whole day with a big, bright smile on your face and flash a toothy smile to everyone you encounter.
A smile is so powerful, that it can:
- Add years to your life
- Make you a happier person
- Make someone else a happier person
- It’s a mood change for the giver and the receiver
- Improves relationships
- In business, it sends a great customer service message
Did you know? It’s easier to smile than to frown and a smile uses fewer muscles.

Wind power is reshaping the Energy scene and Wind farms are popping up all over the world. Wind and Solar farms are taking on an increasing percentage of the world’s energy needs.
It is a clean, renewable, Carbon less Energy source. Hardly the source of a watt of Energy a few decades ago, new Windmills are going up every day in some part of the world. Over $100 Billion was invested in Wind Energy in 2014 alone!
Global Wind Day is intended to help us discover Wind and its’ power. Participating in this day is a breeze! Organizers hold open houses at Wind farms, sponsor events and educational programs, to help us to better understand the value of Wind Energy.
We encourage you to participate in this special day in some way. Importantly, make some effort to support the development and installation of Wind Energy in your community.
