If I wasn’t on my diet I would like to have a Apple Turnover to celebrate National Apple Turnover Day. But if we split a Apple Turnover it might not be that bad. Would you like to do that?
Apple Turnovers can be served as a dessert or as a snack. Did you know Apple Turnovers are the most popular of Turnovers? They are enjoyed by millions of people. Research suggests Apple Turnovers was first served in the 19th Century. But, ancient cultures made Turnovers, calling them portable Pies, because they fit in your hand, and could easily be carried. Today, Turnovers are also sometimes called “hand-held pies”.
Apple Turnovers are commonly baked but they can also be fried. In addition to Fruit, Turnovers can also be filled with Meats, Potatoes or any food you can imagine.
Apple and Cherry Turnovers are the most popular, followed by Blueberry.
How to Celebrate National Apple Turnover Day:
It will come as no surprise to learn that the best way to enjoy National Apple Turnover Day, is to prepare Fresh Apple Turnovers, then eat as many as you can today.
The History and Origin of National Apple Turnover Day:
Our research has not revealed who declared this a holiday, or when National Apple Turnover Day was first celebrated.
We are mildly surprised that this holiday is celebrated in July, as Apples will not begin to ripen until Fall months.
Neither the U.S. Congress, nor the President of the United States has proclaimed today National Apple Turnover Day. Although, we do recognize that eating Apple Turnovers is as patriotic as baseball, Hot Dogs and Apple Pie.
On July 5th, 1946, the first Bikini was worn and modeled. That makes this a fun holiday, National Bikini Day. Oddly, it is referred to as “National”, but the holiday did not originate in the U.S, At that time, conservative Americans largely shunned the bikini, until the 1960’s. Perhaps the word “national” refers to France, where the Bikini was first modeled.
The Bikini is worn by tens of millions of ladies, from very young girls, to not so young ladies. Can you believe, there are a few ladies in their 80s who wear bikinis!
How to Enjoy Bikini Day:
Put on your bikini and get out in the Sun either poolside or at the beach is most desired, but this is not a requirement.
Gentlemen, today is an absolutely beautiful holiday. Go out and take in the scenery. But, by all means, be gentlemen!
History of the Bikini:
Two piece bathing suits were around long before 1946. These bathing suits covered most of the body, and showed only a little midriff. In the 1940’s, a good looking woman was referred to as a “Bombshell”. Some called the ladies Nuclear. There were two French clothing designers of two piece bathing suits. One bathing suit was called the “Atome”, and the other called “Bikini”. Both bathing suits were in reference to Bikini Island, where the United States tested Atomic Bombs and the name Bikini won out.
The Bikini was first modeled on July 5th, 1946, at the Piscine Molitor Swimming pool in Paris, France. French Designer Louis Reard could not get models to wear the “indecent” bikini at the show. So, Louis Reard turned to a showgirl, Micheline Bernardini.
The first bikini was made of just 30 square inches of fabric since then, the amount of coverage has continually shrunk.
A woman can look great in a bikini but a word of caution: bikini waxing is a rip off!

The Origin of National Bikini Day:
It is clear that this holiday marks the modeling of the first bikini. and our research has not revealed who declared this a holiday but we are glad they created the holiday.
This is not a true “National” holiday because neither the U.S. Congress, nor the President of the United States has proclaimed today National Bikini Day. Recognizing that the Bikini originated from French designers, it is possible that this holiday originated as a National day of France. But, we found nothing to support this theory.
Work-a-holics Day – even though just about everyone is on 4th of July holiday
Today is Work-a-Holic Day which recognizes the guy, or gal, who works all of the time. Even during holidays. While just about everyone is enjoying the Fourth of July holiday, the Work-a-holic is off working on a project. They can’t relax because it’s not in there nature. There addicted to work and it’s not necessarily work out of need. It’s work because there either is work to be done, or there’s perceived work to do.
How do you know if your a work-a-holic:
- It’s the Fourth of July weekend, and you are at work or brought home work.
- You work because you want to, not because you need to. (yeah, right)
- It’s Sunday, and you’re working.
- You’re last thoughts as you fall asleep are related to work.
