Who’s thinking about Houseplants right now? If your like me, you’re giving all of your attention to your outdoor Vegetable Garden, and to your Flower beds. If you stop and think about it, you might not have given those beautiful,  indoor Plants any time or attention in quite a while. Chances are, those indoor Plants are feeling a little neglected.

Like other Houseplant owners, I’m sure you want to provide your Houseplants with the very best plant care. Here’s an opportunity for you to bond with your Houseplants.

Take Your Houseplants for a Walk Day is a great day for you and your house plants to get some exercise. It will be good for them and it will allow you to bond with your Plants, helping them to reach their maximum potential. Along the way, you can get your Houseplant accustomed to your neighborhood!?

Note: if your plant is too big to carry, you  can put the Plants in a stroller or wagon and take off on a ride because Houseplants will just love the ride!

Bonding with your Plants helps them to be the very best Plants they can be. In addition to taking your Houseplants for a walk, tthey can bond with your Houseplants by talking to them, or playing encouraging Music. Check out Bonding with You Plants.

Take Your Pants for a Walk Day

July 27th- Take Your Pants For A Walk Day! | Today is, Swim trunk, Pants

Can you imagine a Holiday that allows you to take your pants for a walk day? Because I can’t but Charlie and I are game for anything we can celebrate. How about you and why?

Take Your Pants for a Walk Day is a great day to get some exercise. This special day is well noted on the internet for Ecard and Calendar websites. I’m sure your planning to celebrate this Holiday in a big, big way.

Its an easy day to celebrate. Simply go for a walk. Unless you are wearing a dress or a skirt, you probably are wearing pants so you would be taking your pants on a walk.

Excuse me I need to change my shorts to pants before I head out on my walk. Dear Lord please don’t let it get up into the 100’s until I finish my walk in my pants.

Give your pants some exercise because they are looking a little tight around the middle not for you but for me defiantly and the walk will do them good

Walk on Stilts Day

27th July: NATIONAL WALK ON STILTS DAY - Explainer Video Makers

HMM, I wonder if Granpa David Sr. is home this morning Charlie and he could make a pair of Stilts for Charlie. But I do want 9-11 on speed dial while Charlie starts to walk on them because I am sure he is going to fall a lot and may end up break a bone or two.

God willing though the Lord will protect Charlie and he will not get hurt that bad and before you ask no, none of his friends will be able to get on the Stilts they can get there own parents to make them a pair of Stilts.

If ever there was a day to stand tall amidst your peers, today is the day to do so because its Walk on Stilts Day. With a pair of Stilts and a little practice, you can be a full participant in this tall day. Walk On Stilts Day is considered a hobby or a sport, Stilt walking takes skill and practice. While Stilt walking is not for everyone, chances are you’ve been on them at least once when you were a kid. If that was a long time ago, don’t worry. Stilt Walking is like riding a bike…. once you’ve learned it, you never forget. If you’ve never been on a pair of Stilts, you had a sheltered childhood.

Before you ask me if I’ve ever been on a pair of Stilts as a child I honestly feel like I’ve been but I can’t remember when I was or even were the stilts come from.

As for David I can’t tell you if he has or not and as for Charlie I don’t think he has unless he was with someone else and tried a pair of Stilts out. Have you been on a pair?

Stilts have a long and lofty history and Stilts were first used in the Sixth Century B.C. in ancient Greece. Stilts have been used for a wide variety of applications. In ancient times, Shepherds would mount the Stilts to get a Bird’s eye view, as they watched over their Sheep. Got a tall Fruit Tree? Stilts have been used in the Harvest. The drywall and construction industry uses Stilts today, to reach high places. Stilts were used in Jousting Contests, too. We see stilts most often used for entertainment at the Circus, in Theaters, at Parades and at many Street Events. Circus Clowns, Jugglers and Entertainers all use Stilts. There are many career professional Stilt Walkers among us.

Stand out in a crowd by hopping onto a pair of Stilts. If you are about to mount Stilts for the first time, begin with a pair that is short… low to the ground. Once you’ve mastered your first pair of Stilts, you can easily graduate to taller and taller ones. Looking for Stilts to get started? You might not find them at a toy or hobby store but they are easy to acquire online or you can do like my family and make a pair.

According to Guinness World Book of Records, the world’s tallest Stilt was 53′ 10″ (16.41 m). The record was set on November 15, 2006 by Saimaiti Yiming of Xinjiang, China. Yiming took ten steps on the Stilts without a safety net. In case you didn’t know, a Stilt is measured from the ground to the ankle.

The History and Origin of Walk on Stilts Day:

This Holiday was created by Bill “Stretch” Coleman of Denver, CO. Stretch is a professional Stilt Walker. Stretch said he could not remember when he created the Holiday, but it was about 20 years ago. We’ll estimate its creation was in 2000.

As for why Stretch Coleman created this Holiday, here is what he told us: ” I founded the day to encourage more folks to take up Stilt Walking for Sport, Hobby or a Career. With increased height, one’s perspective changes in many ways. Suddenly, things that were over the horizon are visible. You are more aware of balance and surroundings. Your thinking changes for the good.  Walk tall and stretch your imagination!”

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
