Welcome to our series sharing Unique Holidays: July 25th, 2022. Today is National Chili Dog Day and if I had the extra money I would be sending David to Sonic to pick up a Chili Dog for me because they might have them on sale. Or at least I could hope so couldn’t I?
Today is Culinarians Day a holiday for anyone who cooks. An exciting holiday for all of us who get to enjoy the fruits of their labor. That means everyone of gets to celebrate this holiday. You don’t have to be a Chef, or a graduate of a culinary institution to celebrate this holiday. You simply have to cook, and your creation.
I’m sure you know there is national concern over growing obesity in America. Recognizing this fact, one would think that this is a huge holiday. We found this to be one of the leasser known holidays in the Country. Up to now but not anymore! We’ve documented the holiday so anyone enjoy Culinarians Day this year, and in the future as well.
Its time to get into your kitchen and celebrate Culinarians Day by cooking up a storm.
Today is the day you can have your Hot Dog with Chili and eat this dish, too together. Because today is National Chili Dog Day. We don’t know who first came up with the idea to put Hot Dogs and Chili together. But, I’m glad they did, because Hot Dogs and Chilie make a great combination.
Did you know Hot dogs are really a Sausage of German origin which has evolved over many decades. There are many types of Hot Dogs, including: Ballpark, Skinless and “White” Hots. White Hots are very popular in the Northeast, but little known in many other parts of the Country.
Chili is very popular in colder months of the year but the big exception is when Chili is used as a condiment ,or topper, on Hot Dogs in a Bun making the Chili Dog popular in the Summer months.
If you’ve never tried a Summer Sausage Sandwich, National Chili Dog Day is the perfect day to give a Summer Sausage Sandwich a try. We believe you won’t be disappointed!
Chili Con Carne first appeared on restaurant menus in the 1880’s.

Today is Thread the Needle Day which you can be certain that today is going to be a great day if your sew.
Thread the Needle Day certainly is a day for those who sew but this holiday also has a second meaning. The term “thread the needle”, is also a saying which means to either walk a fine and difficult line between two things or issues, or to do something difficult. For example, suppose two of your friends are on opposite sides of an issue. You may have to “thread the needle” on that issue, as you attempt to retain both of them as your friend.
The creator of Thread the Needle Day did not document this holiday so, until we find him or her, you can celebrate today by either sewing or threading the needle on issues.
Thank you,
