Good morning, welcome to our series sharing Unique Holidays: January 6th, 2022.You know from my post sharing Food Holidays: January 6th that it’s National Bean Day but did you know it’s also Cuddle Up Day? With David off tomorrow would be the perfect day to cuddle up on the couch with my family our favorite snacks and beverages. Would you like to join my family for #FamilyMovieNight? If so, what movie would you like to watch and why?
Bean Day– Always January 6th.
Once in a while, you come across a special day that just doesn’t seem to have any rhyme or reason. Bean Day appears to be one of those days. Bean Day is day of unknown origin, and unknown cause. But this Holiday gets plenty of recognition from Ecard companies and Calendar sites.
We suggest that you celebrate this Holiday by cooking and eating a pot of Beans. After all Beans, are good for the heart.
Let’s celebrate Bean Day:
- Newlyweds can add a few Beans to their Bean jar today.
- Gardeners can enjoy this Holiday surfing through Gardening Catalogs to select Beans to grow in the Spring.
- Read the story “Jack and the Beanstalk” to your children.
- Teachers can use Bean Seeds for learning exercises.
- Others, can look up the history of Beans.

History and Origin of Bean Day:
Paula Bowen is the originator of Bean Day. She started Bean Day because January is so bleak, and there weren’t many Holidays in January to celebrate. Paula Bowen said we needed a Holiday to celebrate Mr. Bean. Also, her dad was a Pinto Bean Farmer, so she grew up eating a lot of Beans.
There are many “Bean Days” referenced on the internet. They are primarily from local farming communities celebrating the harvest of the bean crop. There is no one date for these numerous local events. Local declarations do not seem to concentrate in any one month. Nor, are they often referred to as an annual event.
Cuddle Up Day– Always January 6th.
Cuddle Up Day is an opportunity to snuggle up to someone on a cold Winters’ Day or night. Chances are its cold outside. Cozy up to a special someone and enjoy the warmth and love. This Holiday is enjoyed by both young and old.
This Holiday is a great opportunity to:
… cuddle with your cutie
… snuggle with your sweetie
… hug your honey
Of course, you do not have to cuddle up with someone……
- Cuddling up in your easy chair is a great idea.
- Cuddling up to a pet is rewarding.
- Cuddling up to a stuffed animal is quite secure and comforting.
- Cuddling up with a good book is enjoyable.
Thank you,
