Good morning, welcome to our series sharing Unique Holidays: January 20th, 2022. I wish Suzzie was here today because its Penguin Awareness Day. Did you know Penguins are Suzzie’s favorite animal and Charlie and I also like Penguins? If it wasn’t Freezing outside, I would have taken Charlie to the Zoo. Instead, we are going to stay inside and watch Mr. Poppers Penguins and color Penguins for our Art Class this morning.
National Buttercrunch Day– always on January 20th.
If you are a Buttercrunch lovers, today is your Holiday which is National Buttercrunch Day. Today you can enjoy Buttercrunch Ice Cream, or Candy.
Spend the day with one of your favorite snacks and make it your personal goal to have something with Buttercrunch at each meal. Tomorrow, you can return to the diet.

Without a doubt, this Holiday was created by an individual or group that loves Buttercrunch. Perhaps, they were so busy enjoying their favorite treat, that they failed to document the Holiday.
National Cheese Lover Day– Always January 20th.
Do you love Cheese? Spectacular, as today which is National Cheese Lover Day.
Use today to savor and enjoy varieties of Cheese. There certainly is no shortage of varieties. Depending upon what article you read, there is between 900 – 1,400 varieties of Cheese, classified by texture.
It’s easy to celebrate this Holiday. Set out a tray of several varieties of your favorite Cheese and dig in. If you want to host a Cheese tasting party with your friends, make it a memorable party. Don’t forget the Wine.

- Did you know Cheese is more flavorful at room temperature?
- Americans consume over 31 pounds of Cheese per year. That’s nothing compared to the French, who eat over 50 pounds of Cheese per year.
- Historical records vary, as to when Cheese was first made. It was somewhere between 7,500 and 8,000 B.C. Records suggest Cheese may have first been discovered, by accident, in Poland or Arabia.
- The world’s largest Cheese was put on display on this day in 1964 at the New York World’s Fair. This Cheese weighed over 34,000 pounds.

About Penguin Awareness Day, and World Penguin Day:
Penguin Awareness Day, and World Penguin Day are great opportunities to learn about and appreciate one of the few Natives of Antarctica. On this Holiday, spend a little time learning about Penguins. A pictorial book or internet site is fun. You can also watch a documentary on Penguins.
This Holiday is a time to wear black and white. Which is Penguin colors. Tell a penguin joke or two. Watch a Batman Movie with the Penguin in it.
History and Origin of Penguin Days:
World Penguin Day coincides with the annual Northward Migration of Penguins. Which happens each year on or around April 25th. Did you know Penguins do not fly? They walk, or waddle.
Our research did not uncover any information about the origin of Penguin Awareness Day. And, we found no consensus on the date but we found several conflicting dates in January.
Penguins are found in Antarctica, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Peru, the Falkland Islands, and the Galapagos Islands. Elsewhere, Penguins are only found in zoos.
