The Mommies Reviews

Good evening, how are you? I wanted to share our series featuring Unique Holidays: August 2022: Dog Days of Summer. I don’t know about where you are but its hotter than Hattie’s here. All I want to do is stay in the Swimming Pool or inside my home. Although I do go out and walk. Would you like to join me?

Dog Days of Summer – July 3 – August 11

It’s sure hot and muggy and that is because we’re in the Dog Days of Summer. The hottest, muggiest days of the year. As the song goes “roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer”.  If your feeling the effects of  this hot, muggy, sultry, “Weather that you can wear”, you can be certain that your in the Dog Days of Summer. A period of drought and occasional strong thunderstorms.

By definition, the Dog Days Summer are the hottest and steamiest part of Summer. Typically, this is the period when Sirius, the Dog Star, rises at the same time as the Sun, from July 3rd -August 11th.

When the Dog Days of Summer arrive, it’s time to do Summer time activities, that help us to keep our cool.

Including:

  • Taking a dip in the Swimming Pool.
  • If you have the opportunity go to the Beach
  • Pack the kids and your Swim Suit and head to a Water Park
  • Watch the Sultry days go by in a cozy hammock. Before you say I don’t have a hammock purchase a hammock because the family will love you for it.
  • Find a shady Tree. Grab your favorite book and lay under the Tree.
  • Quaff your thirst with a frozen Summer drink. Snow Cone please….
  • If there is a evening baseball game close take the family and go.

Whatever your favorite pastime for the Dog Days of Summer, are we do not believe today should be spent indoors all day long, in air conditioned comfort. Get out and enjoy the hot Weather while it is here. After all, the days are already growing shorter, and you know what that will lead to.
