I don’t know about where you are but here it is raining Cats and Dogs. I don’t see any end in sight. Before it gets worse, and the Internet goes down I wanted to bring you Unique Holidays: April 25th, 2022. Would you take a look at the Holidays being celebrated today and let me know which Holiday you most want to celebrate?
It’s East Meets West Day…. time for a few introductions.
The origin of this day is when many kinds of sports team hold annual East vs. West games. Most often, it’s held by high school sports teams. This doesn’t have to be limited to sports teams. It could be any club or organization that holds competitions. Which can be geographically separated into and East and West groups.
These special games usually serve a number of purposes, including:
- charitable benefits
- Sports Booster Club
- to honor and/or showcase the best players of the Season in any Sport
Celebrate “East Meets West Day” by holding an East Meets West game. Participate or attend one of these games, if possible.
History and Origin of “East Meets West Day”:
This Holiday most likely took hold and grew from annual “East vs. West” Sports competition.
What do you know about your DNA? I think it’s about time you find out.
National DNA Day was created to encourage the general public to learn about genetics and genomics. It also encourages us to learn about current research and advances.
This Holiday commemorates the completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003. The discovery of DNA’s double helix in 1953.
A great way to celebrate National DNA Day, is to get your DNA tested, to identify your ancestry. Armed with your DNA results, you will find it exciting, and a little intriguing, to research your ancestry to see who is in your family tree. Do you have anyone famous in your family tree?
Start the search for that question, by getting your DNA tested today. Once your kit arrives, all you have to do is spit in a little tube and mail it back. The results will come in a couple weeks. An exciting search for members of your family tree will follow. Be prepared. You don’t know what you will uncover about your ancestors.
History and Origin of “National DNA Day”:
In 2003, the U.S. Congress passed a resolution making April 25th National DNA Day.
Penguin Awareness Day always falls on January 20th.
World Penguin Day: Always April 25th.
About Penguin Awareness Day, and World Penguin Day:
Penguin Awareness Day, and World Penguin Day are opportunities to learn about and appreciate one of the few natives of Antarctica. On these days, spend a little time learning about Penguins. Reading a pictorial book or searching the internet site for information on Penguins is fun. You can also watch a documentary of these cute and popular, Penguins.
These days are also a time to wear black and white. Penguin colors. However, wearing a tuxedo in the Penguins honor is optional. It is also popular to tell a penguin joke or two.
History and Origin of Penguin Days:
World Penguin Day coincides with the annual northward migration of Penguins. This happens each year on or around April 25th. Penguins do not fly. Rather, Penguins walk, or waddle their way to and from.
Our research did not uncover any information about the origin of Penguin Awareness Day. And, we found no consensus on the date. Rather, we found several conflicting dates in January.
Penguins are found in Antarctica, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Peru, the Falkland Islands, and the Galapagos Islands. Elsewhere, Penguins are only found in Zoos.
