Ultimate Blog Challenge Day 18 July 2018

The Mommies Reviews

Ultimate Blog Challenge Day 18 July 2018 and I would like to share this morning prompt with you:

Did you know that on this day in 1960, 15-year-old Brenda Lee got a #1 hit with “I’m Sorry”? Or that in 1999, Dave Cone pitched a perfect game (the 16th ever to happen in major league history)?

Write a “This Day in History” post.

You can always find out by going to This day in History

I didn’t know this website existed but now that I do I know I can also use it not only in this post but in our Homeschool Class as we can use the topics in Creative Writing.

Charlie and I looked through the site and the post that caught Charlie’s eye was ” from Hollywood 2008 The Dark Knight opens with a highest-grossing weekend. I asked Charlie why he picked out this post and he let me know it was because of the following reasons:

  1. This is the fifth film in the big-screen Batman which I have watched since before Charlie was born. For both Charlie and David the Batman movies are one of there favorite series.
  2. My family loved  Heath Ledger, who played the Joker and passed away 6 months after this film debuted so it was a must-have movie for us to purchase.
  3. Our family likes the work of The Dark Knight,  and the director by Christopher Nolan and the lead actor Christian Bale who had the title role in this movie.
  4. This was the highest grossing weekend in movie History.
  5. Charlie then let me know the storyline and all the action in the movie made it his favorite Batman ever and the Joker is his favorite character of all time.

Now, I have a question for you have you seen this movie and if so what did you think of it and why did you feel that way? Which Batman movie is your favorite movie and why? Also, do you have a favorite character and if so who? As I like the Penguin and like most men David likes Cabwomen.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates

  1. That’s great to incorporate the blog topics into Charlie’s home school, brilliant idea since it sound like he is really enjoying the blogs. Charlie, you need to write another blog yourself sometime soon! 🙂

    1. I keep telling C that Martha although he doesn’t listen to me. Mabey I should send him to you and you can get him to blog. As for Homeschooling and Blogging, it keeps us both on track. Although my heart is breaking as he is returning to school and I am scared out of my mind.
