.If you have been blessed with a little bundle of joy quite recently, then you are to be congratulated because your life will never be the same again. You will hear all of the negative stories from friends and family telling you that you’re never going to get a good night’s sleep again for the next six months and while some of the stories that they tell you are true, there is so much to look forward to when this new life comes into your new family. If this was your first pregnancy then you’re probably a little bit apprehensive about what lies ahead but there is so much information on the Internet and you can always turn to friends and family when you need assistance the most.
There are some things however that you’re going to need from your local baby shop that will make both your life and the life of your newborn a lot easier. It’s going to take a big adjustment on your part because your life is going to be turned upside down and not always in a positive way. If you’re getting advice from all sides and it has become a little confusing to get shopping done, then the following are just some of the must have items that every mother needs for her baby.
- A baby carrier – It’s highly likely that you’re not going to want to put your baby down at all in the very beginning but you will find that this is incredibly hard to keep doing all the time because life goes on and there are many day-to-day things that you need to be getting on with both for yourself and for your baby. Thankfully there are many different kinds of baby carriers to choose from and so finding one will not be a problem but this is one thing that definitely needs to be on your new baby checklist. You do however need to make sure that you pick one that is comfortable for both you and the baby and that allows you to have your hands free to do the necessary things that need to be done.
- A breastfeeding kit – One of the best ways to make breastfeeding easy on yourself is to make sure that you have a breastfeeding Kit close to hand. By having everything right beside you and in one place, it means that you can begin breastfeeding almost anywhere. Make sure that you have a water bottle for yourself, some nipple cream to decrease the initial discomfort and a couple of clothes for when the baby is burping.
- You will need a breast pump – Although feeding your baby naturally is the most wonderful thing in the world, every new mum needs a little bit of a break now and again. This is where the breast pump becomes incredibly valuable because it allows you to pump your breast milk and to have it ready without having to actually feed your baby from your breast.
