The Mommies Reviews

Please #prayfordallas on Wednesday night when I went to bed, I never dreamed that I would wake up on Thursday morning to the news that five police officers were dead in Dallas. Due to a sniper attack, seven others injured have been shot and killed. Even more Police Offers and civilians would be hurt.

As I sat in my home trying to wrap my brain around the incident and why this had to happen. I still can’t figure out why someone would do something so horrendous. I kept repeating to myself, and everyone I talked to was #prayfordallas.

With Charlie being so small I’ve always kept the news off in our home, and I watch it online, so Charlie doesn’t hear these things in the house which affects Charlie, and he will not sleep. After I watch the news online, I decide what I want to tell Charlie. But David is different and doesn’t think about that and just gets to talking and goes on and on about the things that happen in the World in front of Charlie.

Yesterday when David came home from work and we were leaving to grab something to eat and run a few quick errands. David started asking me if I had heard the news about Dallas and I told him I had. I kept trying to steer the conversation away from the shooting but I couldn’t get David to talk about anything else, but he wouldn’t.

Charlie was in the backseat of the car and asked what happened and I explained the shooting to him to the best of my ability. Charlie gets really entirely, and I look in the back seat and Charlie has slipped out of his seat belt and is kneeling on the floorboard of the car. Praying for the families of the ones affected by the shooting.

Charlie asked me if the police officers had children. I told Charlie I wasn’t sure if they did or not, but I bet some of them had. Charlie asks me how he could help the children since they no longer had a father. My heart just broke, and then Charlie asked me how we could improve the families. I said I wasn’t sure but that I would look for ways to support everyone affected by the Shootings. If I find a way, he could help out as well.

Before we begin to look Charlie would like to ask you to #prayfordallas and the families affected by the Tragedy. If your local and see businesses or people helping out with this incident, please let Charlie and I know as we would love to help in any way we can.

If you know of anyone affected by this tragedy, please let them know Charlie and I are Praying for them. We are so sorry they were affected by this horrible tragedy.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
