A review for ThinkFun Games Compose Yourself and Code Master before I begin my discussion I want to let you know I was sent both the Games in exchange for the review and the thoughts in this post are all mine and my families.
I have mentioned in the past that we are Homeschooling Charlie and I have been struggling with certain classes which I would need to learn so I would be able to teach Charlie the things he needs to learn. One of the lessons I wasn’t sure about was Music which God knew as he had ThinkFun contact me about hosting a review for them once the email arrived I went to there website, and I was excited when I saw Compose Yourself because it would allow Charlie and I to compose our songs.
Through the Game, Charlie would be able to use the computer and before you ask me how a laptop could help us in homeschooling, it was because computer programming was one of the classes I wanted to teach Charlie or find one Charlie could sign up. Although, now we can use this new website not only for music but also for our computer class along with a reading class.
Charlie has to read the cards that come inside the game he needs to be able to play. Compose Yourself is a massive plus as games keep Charlie from getting bored with reading. Also, it helps keep him focused and teaches him to sit still for long periods of time without taking a break.
We sat down and played Compose Yourself together, and it was so easy to play that Charlie can play by himself and I also like knowing after playing Compose Yourself Charlie will be able to teach his friends and family. I was able to let Charlie know teaching others can also be a class for school.
Even if you’re not Homeschooling your children, I hope you take the time to check out ThinkFun Compose Yourself because it is perfect for anyone who enjoys music. Before you ask yes, both children and adults alike will enjoy this new game, and I liked learning to Compose Yourself can be played alone as well as together.
My family believes Compose Yourself will be perfect for Family Game Night as well as for anyone Homeschooling their children. I can even see Music Teachers using Compose Yourself inside their classrooms.
Music in a Box + Anyone, Any Age = Great Stocking Stuffer, $20
Compose Yourself – Created by maestro cellist and composer Philip Sheppard. Compose Yourself is a set of musical “building bricks” that allows anyone to “play with” music just as they would with a construction kit. The digital music game features a deck of transparent cards and access to an exclusive website where you can compose your music, share it with friends and family, or download/print the sheet music. Featuring more than a billion melody combinations, Compose Yourself is available exclusively at Amazon.
The second game ThinkFun sent for my family to review was Code Master. Charlie and I sat down the other night to play Code Master, but it is more of a game that David would enjoy. I have been waiting for him to be home to play Code Master with Charlie and I. Code Master uses codes and that is something I am not good although both Charlie and David are.
I like Code Master because it is a Puzzle as the counselor has said puzzles are something Charlie could play. I also love that Code Master helps children learn about computers because computers are something Charlie will be learning about in Homeschooling. Code Master will help Charlie as he gets older because computers are changing all the time and children need to learn as much about computers as they can. Parents should encourage learning and learn right along with the children.

With Valentines right around the corner I know I want to pick something new up for Charlie. I would like to get him something fun and unusual for Homeschooling. This morning when I was visiting ThinkFun, I found this new product called Marker Studio Gears Set I think Charlie would enjoy so take a look at this link and let me know what you think of this new product.
I would like to ask you to stop by #HGG Sponsor Review ThinkFun and let them know we appreciate them for working with us on this year’s #HGG. Then them know we would like to work with them in the Future as there are so many other Games I would like to share with you that can be used in Homeschooling or for Fun on Family Game Night.
In our home we will be using both of the Games we received from ThinkFun for both of these reasons and also as Valentines approaches we may pick up a set to give to some of Charlie’s friends as they love playing games just as we do.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
