I remember not only when Suzzane my little but my nephew David and reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar to them. Then came Charlie and I read the same story to Charlie who read the book to Lily and Jason. I wish they had this Lego set when they were little but we all know it wasn’t out. But please vote and help them create the set for future children to play with. Don’t be surprised if I don’t purchase a set if and when the set comes out for my Homeschool Classroom.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar has eaten through the refrigerator and now has new aspirations: it wants to become a LEGO set.
Through the LEGO Ideas platform, LEGO enthusiast and designer Glenn Jones from the UK, has created his dream Very Hungry Caterpillar set. A few fun facts:
- The set took 9 hours to design
- The Very Hungry Caterpillar uses 350 LEGO bricks
- The design was inspired by the movements of the caterpillar with segmented discs that connect with LEGO ball hinges. This gives the movement and class arch of the Very Hungry Caterpillar
In order to be considered for production by the LEGO Company, the set needs 10,000 votes! The set currently has 6,045. We’d love for you to share with your readers to help make the Very Hungry Caterpillar come to life!
Voting can be found here.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
