Come See the Trains! Runs from November 17, 2018 – January 6, 2019
Charlie, David and I was able to visit The Trains at NorthPark this week. I was so excited to attend as Charlie, David and I went last year and had so much fun. That I knew Charlie would be excited when he found out we would be visiting The Trains at NorthPark. I let Charlie and David know we would be attending The Trains at NorthPark.
Charlie asked if he would be able to bring a friend with him. I let Charlie know it would be fine for him to bring one of his friends. Although it was Thanksgiving weekend and none of Charlie’s friends were home. We went to the The Trains at NorthPark with just the three of us I am so glad we did as it allowed us to have family time together which we don’t get enough of with the way David works.
Once we drove up to The Trains at NorthPark
it was nice knowing both Charlie and David knew where we needed to park at and how to get to The Trains at NorthPark. This way we didn’t have to spend a lot of time looking for the Exhibit and being late. Although we didn’t have a set time to be there. Once we arrived David went up and got the tickets for Charlie and I.
I handed the tickets to Charlie who got into line for us and before we could even get inside Charlie had made friend with a lady who hadn’t ever visited The Trains at NorthPark. Charlie was able to share information with her on the Trains. I loved hearing the excitement in Charlie’s voice as he was so excited and couldn’t wait to get inside.
We walked into the door I pointed out signs to Charlie and I reminded Charlie that if Charlie read the signs then that would count as his reading for the day. As Charlie was reading the signs he kept pointing out facts to David and me which I didn’t know. If we was still Homeschooling we would be able to use the information in our Homeschool class.
Charlie loved learning more about the Ronald McDonald House. I was able to let Charlie know there was a office in Fort Worth. Charlie surprised me when Charlie asked if we would be able to visit the Ronald McDonald house and take treats for the children that are in the hospital.
We walked around I was able to point our Sponsors David and Charlie should recognize like Dallas Children’s Charities and how much Dallas Children’s Charities have helped others out this year. To Child Magazine which I pick up every time I am in a store and there is a new one. Because I find new businesses I can visit through the magazine.
Charlie and I both loved seeing this Bridge and was able to discuss where you would find the Bridge at. As well as discuss what types of vehicles would travel over the bridges. Charlie and I was able to discuss what we would like to see if we visited this City and why we would like to visit those places. Allowing us to add a new trip to our Bucket List.
I showed Charlie the camper and reminded Charlie the camper looked like the camper in his grandparents back yard. Charlie let me know owning a Trailer and being able to take trips would be the perfect way to spend his Summer Vacation. I agreed with Charlie and was able to learn something new about my son.
Charlie and I had so much fun walking though all the Exhibits and as we was looking at them I pointed out Ronald McDonald to Charlie and he was surprised to see him and the cars and trucks. Charlie reminded me if my dad was visiting and had attended The Trains at NorthPark with us that he would have liked both the cars and trucks.
Here is another exhibit we saw when visiting The Trains at NorthPark. Charlie let me know he loved the shape of the building and the top of the building because it’s different than other buildings he has seen. Charlie let me know he couldn’t wait until he got home to look up the building and to find out more about the building.
Below is one of the Train cars Charlie and I saw. Charlie and I liked this train car because on this car was the Gingerbread Man. Along with a Gingerbread House. My dad would have liked seeing this train car. As we were leaving Charlie reminded me we needed to make Gingerbread Cookies and to sit down and read The Gingerbread Man together because we haven’t read a book together in a while.
Charlie asked me to share his favorite exhibit with you the Space Ship and Aliens. Charlie let me know he would like to go up into the Spaceship and to meet one of the Aliens so he could learn about the places they live. As well as how they talk. I let Charlie know if he was still Home schooled that we could have studied Space and the Galaxy as well as Aliens.
As we was walking through The Trains at NorthPark. I came upon the Garden of Gods. I was able to let Charlie and David know my friend Debbie had visited Garden of Gods a couple months. I let Charlie and David know Garden of Gods is in Colorado. I have visited Colorado a couple times but I didn’t know about Garden of Gods until Debbie shared pictures of her trip to Garden of Gods with me or I would have visited Garden of Gods.while in Colorado.
David let me know he enjoyed this Scene and then David let me know this would be the perfect spot to spend his vacation because he could fish and relax. I asked David if we would find a spot that had a lake so Charlie and I could swim. As David and I was talking I asked David if would climb the Mountain with me and he said no. Although Charlie said he would.
We kept on walking and we came to this Oil Derrick.
David let Charlie know that when he was 12 he worked on a Oil Derrick with his grandfather. Which lead to David working on Cranes when he grew up. David even talked to Charlie about Houston which is where he worked at. Allowing Charlie to learn more about his father as young man.
As we were leaving we came to the Gift Shop and Charlie and I had thought about purchasing something but we decided to put our money aside to purchase a rail car for our friend Hunter who is in the fight of his life. As he is 16 and Battling Cancer for this third time. As much as I hate to say this I am not sure he will survive. If you would please add him to your Prayers.
I would like to point out something you might not know as your walking through the Exhibits look under the trains for the Red Buttons which will turn the train into a working exhibit. You will hear music, see people sawing and lights in different places including cars going on and off.
