I thought I would share a new Homeschool Resource with you. The Ten News – or the 10 minute news podcast for kids, parents, and schools.You should listen to today’s episode.
If you don’t already know it, The Ten News is 10 minutes of news and fun for the new generation of curious thinkers ages 8-12, more or less. Started during the Pandemic, and distributed by iHeart Radio, the 3x a week podcast tackles topics in a kids’ first approach. The Ten News highlights kids taking action and digs into the stories that kids are wondering about, from political news to those pesky cicadas.
For example, on COVID, kid listeners asked Dr. Anthony Fauci their questions, highlighting their own concerns about the Pandemic, which he graciously answered.
Last week, one show episode covered Juneteenth, speaking to the National Museum of African American History & Culture’s Kelly Navies about the history of the holiday, and then to Ms. Opal Lee, author of “Juneteenth: A Children’s Story,” about her efforts to make Juneteenth a National holiday. In another episode, “Dad’s Are The Coolest,” kids called in their favorite Dad jokes and notes for their Dads to celebrate Father’s Day.

Bethany Van Delft’s “hip & grounded, laid back delivery” has earned her the honor of performing at the prestigious Just For Laughs festival, SF Sketchfest, All Jane Festival, and Boston Calling.
She was named “Best Comic 2019” by Boston Magazine, and her debut comedy album “I’m Not a Llama” recently dropped to good reviews and an impressive number of minutes at #2 on the iTunes charts.
She is a regular host for The Moth live shows, produces a weekly IG Comedy show, and somehow keeps her kids and husband alive, and not super unhappy. She also bakes pretty well.
