Like a bad penny I am back to share another of Susan Mallery’s books which is The Stepsisters: A Novel. This is a stand along book and not part of her series. I’m telling you I heard she has written 77 books. I bet you by the end of August I will have read at least 30 to 40 of her books as I will be starting the Fools Gold series soon which contains 20 books.
I just purchased the first three books in the Fools Gold series from Amazon and will be purchasing three more of the books on Friday and each week until I get the entire series and then I will began reading the books. Would you like to join in reading this series as I can loon you the books once I finish with them.
When we went to the Richland Hills Library the other day, I found The Stepsisters and after reading part of the book jacket it looked like a story I would like and after reading a couple chapters I wasn’t wrong. You will find both romance and suspense as the sister have t work through both old and new problems turning them into the family they always wanted to be.
Being the baby ,Cassidy you could see was hard as her mom was very manipulative and was what stopped her from accepting a marriage proposal. Then there is Sage who never felt like she fit in and does things to ruin the relationship she had just begun and almost ruinng her relationship with Daisy.
Daisy has distanced her self from her sister\s until her dad who is living out of State calls and says Cassidy needs her and will be coming to live with her. on top of that she has marriage problems no, one knows about. Then there is Sage who is also back in town and living with her mom who hates Dasiy.
All I can say is if you don’t like drama then you will want to avoid Daisy’s home and the three girls and all they have going on in there lives. which I was drawn into. I wish she had down other books focusing on Sage and Cassidy as well. That wasn’t meant to be which is fine because there are plenty of other books by Susan Mallery for me and you to read and fall in love with.
About:
#1 New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery pens a love story of a different sort… a heartfelt tale of friendship between two women who used to be sisters.
Once upon a time, when her dad married Sage’s mom, Daisy was thrilled to get a bright and shiny new sister. But Sage was beautiful and popular, everything Daisy was not, and she made sure Daisy knew it.
Sage didn’t have Daisy’s smarts—she had to go back a grade to enroll in the fancy rich-kid school. So, she used her popularity as a weapon, putting Daisy down to elevate herself. After the divorce, the stepsisters’ rivalry continued until the final, improbable straw: Daisy married Sage’s first love, and Sage fled California.
Eighteen years, two kids and one troubled marriage later, Daisy never expects—or wants—to see Sage again. But when the little sister they have in common needs them both, they put aside their differences to care for Cassidy. As long-buried truths are revealed, no one is more surprised than they when friendship blossoms.
Their fragile truce is threatened by one careless act that could have devastating consequences. They could turn their backs on each other again…or they could learn to forgive once and for all and finally become true sisters of the heart.
Don’t miss The Happiness Plan, a new novel coming from #1 New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery where three women experience hope, heartache, and the power of friendship as they search for true happiness!
