Good morning , I would like to share a suspenseful mystery novel The Shifting Current: A Coastal Guardian Novella by Dani Pettrey that I received for a review. This is part of a series which can be read as a stand-alone. I hadn’t read the other novels which didn’t matter as this novel made perfect sense on its own.
Logan Perry is a Special Agent with the Coast Guard’s Investigative Services division. Logan Perry loves working with Emmy Thorton. Emmy makes him a better investigator and Emily makes him want to be a better man. But the secrets from his past will forever stand in the way of any future they could have.
When Logan gets word that Colt, his grandfather, the man who raised him, has been murdered he returns home. Colt needs to lay his grandfather to rest and to find justice. Colt won’t be going alone, Emmy insists on helping him, because together nothing can stop them from getting to the truth. Emmy refuses to allow him to suffer such a loss alone.
I enjoyed getting to meet the folks from Logan’s hometown and learning his backstory. Which showcased his character so completely If you are like me and you picked up l The Shifting Current: A Coastal Guardian Novella before you read book one through three, you will be in the same boat as me, but you will not feel like you have missed any backstory.
l The Shifting Current: A Coastal Guardian Novella had some great suspense, and you will find the book takes place in New Mexico and brings us a wonderful setting a beautiful blossoming of romance. Once again if you picked up l The Shifting Current: A Coastal Guardian Novella before you read book one through three, you will not feel like you have missed any backstory.
