The Secret World of Children: Understand Why Your Kids Behave the Way They Do covers the age range from infants to teenager and a lot of times I will skip a introduction of a book but this time I sat down and read it and I enjoyed learning about the Author and her work. A licensed clinical social worker who has dealt with families for 35 years helping parents understand their child’s behavior. Meri Wallace also has worked as a child and family therapist.
The Author covers the following topics in the book including love, curiosity, aggression, independence, urgent wishes, impulsivity, living in the moment, pleasure, along with fears and anxieties featured in each of the 9 chapters. My favorite chapter was “why we get so angry at our children” because I do that more than I should.
