. I have two children with Epilepsy (and myself) and obviously health care is important here. What I liked about this book is that it does touch on some of the controversial specifics (surprise/hidden billing and more) with some solutions to working it out for the better.

My favorite thing about this book is that it gives a wide range of info, a great introduction to the evolution of healthcare and what we should look out for. It’s not just for a medical professionals. This book addresses topics that can help us see a perspective as a patient that we need to address within our personal daily functions to avoid some of the needs to participate in the high cost sick care system.. This is a lot of good information and as they mention, a “proactive solution that creates more reasonably priced, accessible, equitable healthcare for everyone.”
We have to start the research at home so we can properly address our care in the office. The bibliography offers some really great resources that I also enjoyed looking through to do just that..
If healthcare research is your mojo, this is the book for you. Dr. Daneshgari has jam packed the good info to save you time on the topic!

1- we have the most expensive and mispriced health care in the world
2- Because 50% of what it does, is Waste- services that don’t lead to desired health outcomes for the consumer- similar to your 17 year history of dealing with the sick care
3- The reason for 50% of waste is systematic misalignments that exist between doctors who are employed by hospitals/financial institutions; payers who pay to those hospitals from the pocket of the consumer, and consumer who has lost its control of her own money- as the control has been given to her money her employer or the government.
