The Man Who Carried Cash Published By: Julie Chadwick

I am back and I can’t wait to tell you about a new gift I was sent for a review and I am not going to ask you to “Guess Who’s Joined Our Holiday Gift Guide”. I am just going to tell you because this is a Gift I not only want to keep but I know several people would like to have this Gift as well. Including my daughter Suzzane if she were still here.

Without further ado I would like to share a new book I received to review in exchange for a spot in this years Holiday Gift Guide. The new book is called “The Man Who Carried Cash” written by Julie Chadwick. You might be wondering who “Cash” is and it is Johnny Cash The Man In Black” a Country Music Icon.

I can’t wait until I am able to sit down and read “The Man Who Carried Cash”  because I am sure I will have an Angel sitting on each of my shoulders reading right along with me. Because Johnny Cash was Suzzane’s hero and my mom loved hearing John and June sing. My dad even took her to one of Johnny and June’s concerts here. I would like to let you know this was the first and only concerts they ever attended because even though they loved Music they didn’t like attending concerts.

I was thumbing through my copy of “The Man Who Carried Cash” I could hear a voice saying GRANDPA would enjoy this book and it would make a nice Christmas Gift for him. I am not sure if the voice was Suzzane, my mom or even Charlie sneaking up behind me whispering in my ear.

Along with David saying my mom and dad would enjoy                              “The Man Who Carried Cash” . If you don’t want your book can I give it to my mom. The answer to both these questions is no, no, no, I plan on reading “The Man Who Carried Cash” and so does Charlie. The funny part is when we began reading this book David asked if we would read it to him even though he wanted to give it to his mom.

Without further ado her is a Preview of “The Man Who Carried Cash

OVERVIEW

The unlikely, rocky relationship between an American country superstar and his straight-laced Canadian manager.

Before there was Johnny and June, there was Johnny and Saul.                       The Man Who Carried Cash chronicles a relationship that was both volatile and affectionate between Johnny Cash and his manager, Saul Holiff. From roadside taverns to the roaring crowds at Madison Square Garden, from wrecked cars and jail cells all the way to the White House, the story of Johnny and Saul is a portrait of two men from different worlds who were more alike than either cared to admit.

Saul handled the bookings and the no-shows, the divorce and the record deals, drugs, overdoses, and arrests. He was there for the absolute worst of times, but also for the best: Carnegie Hall, Folsom Prison, “A Boy Named Sue,” and Cash’s hit television series. But in 1973, at the zenith of Cash’s career, Saul quit. Until now, no one knew why.
