The Mad House

Summer will be over soon, and school will resume quickly. Some things need to change so this year runs smoother than last year. Which will allow me to be able to make sure Charlie gets the education he needs. While browsing online I found a new blog called The Mad House and she offers all types of resources to get my family back on track.

For all three of us to be less stressed. I am preparing for the school year I sat back yesterday and thought about how things in our home handled, and I see a bunch of things that are wrong and needs to change. It isn’t fair to our family to be facing these things on a daily basis.

This week I will be working on a plan and putting it in place for next year. One thing I wanted to make sure is that the housework isn’t all left to David. We have meals on the table every day, and junk food stops as it isn’t healthy for any of us.

Just because David works a lot of nights doesn’t mean Charlie, and I can’t have a sit-down dinner together. As he can help me prepare it and we can put the leftovers in the refrigerator, for when David comes home at night, he has dinner.

All three of us can do more in the house to keep it clean. Not wait until Davids days off to do it. Or for David to clean it before he leaves for work. While I work on the computer and Charlie does homework or plays his game. David is tired and never gets to rest with us doing things this way.

We are not helping Charlie by letting him get by without having chores to do. So when he grows up, he will know how to take care of his own home or family.

I sat down this morning to work up a list of chores each of us can do. I searched online for age-appropriate tasks for Charlie, and I found a file I can print out on The Mad House. I like how the chart covers all ages

When you visit Mad House take time to check out her section on Cooking with Kids because I found a lot of fun recipes I want to make with Charlie.

The recipes are ones I think he would eat and be able to help me prepare. By preparing meals together, it would bring us back to the dinner table as a family.

To make Homeschool more manageable, she also has some free printables for us. One of them that Charlie and I will be printing out is a Summer Scavenger Hunt as Charlie has been asking to have one.

I think Summer Scavenger Hunt would be the perfect way to end Summer. So come and print out yours with us and we can do a Scavenger Hunt together.

I hope you enjoyed learning about The Mad House and that you will take the time to check out her website. If you know of a blog, you would like for me to feature on here leave me a comment and link to there blog so I can check them out. In the meantime have a Blessed week. Thank you for stopping by.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie, and David Cates
