I would like to share a new book that could be called a Fable or Self-Help book The Island of the Four Ps: A Modern Fable About Preparing for Your Future by Ed Hajim (Author) I received copies of for this review.
The Island of the Four Ps: A Modern Fable About Preparing for Your Future is not a usual how to do it book, but book that teaches us to THINK. For me one thing that was questionable is its a fable and for me personally the only fables I remember were Aesop’s Fables. How about you? ALthough the story is full of advice centered around identifying Passions, Principles, Partners, and Plans to help build a fulfilling and successful life which can will help people of all ages.
My favorite chapters were the last two chapters which describe the author’s own life and testimony to the power of the 4 Ps in his journey from a trauma-filled childhood to a life of remarkable personal and professional success. Teaching us that no, matter what we go through we can move forward with the help of this book.
I would suggest you read a chapter a day, then take the time to answer the questions. In our home Charlie and I will be reading and answering the questions together in his Homeschool Language Arts Class and I’m praying and believing David will read and answer the questions with us which will bring us closer.
Ed Hajim was able to transform his own life lessons, from early challenges he faced through the substantial successes he achieved sharing clear, well-organized, thought provoking ideas and questions for every reader, no matter their personal history or path forward. If you know a child graduating and starting college this is the perfect gift for them.

About the book:
The Island of the Four Ps, a spinoff of Ed Hajim’s bestselling memoir On The Road Less Traveled, is a modern fable about a young man, Marketus, who leaves home for the first time and travels to an island on a quest to answer some of life’s basic questions. The book, a conversation with the hero’s inner voice, is divided into four fundamental sections—passions, principles, partners, and plans—the key ingredients to making a successful life, says the author. This magical trip takes Marketus and his guide to four villages named after the four Ps. As he enters each place, Marketus places a green pea into a special device, which allows him to store his thoughts, retrieve them, and integrate them. This engaging tale features full-color illustrations throughout, this parable comes to life in the most unusual way. Perfect for those looking for inspiration in an ever-changing world, Marketus and the Four Peas offers a timeless message for everyone.
