This is a review for the book The Inventions of God (and Eva) by Dave Connis; illustrated by Amy Domingo (WaterBrook, 11/2/21) ISBN 9780593233559—HC—40 pages—$12.99/$17.99 CAN which I received a copy of this book for this children’s book.
This morning as I was getting out the Totes I use to put everyone’s Christmas Gifts in when its time to wrap I picked up The Inventions of God (and Eva) and was trying to decide who should recieve the book when I took the time to look through it.
As I did I found myself drawn in with the pictures. The next thing I knew I was reading the book to myself. As I closed the last page I found myself wanting to call my niece Payton to read the story to her. Or to my Niece Lily and my Nephew Jason.
Instead I sat the book aside to read at my Christmas party I want to host this year when I invite my Nieces and Nephews along with my grandson Elijah over to make Cookies and Paint Ornaments and to take Family Pictures. Would you like to join us for Snack and Storytime?
I can’t wait to have the kids read pages from the book and see how they pronounce all the fun unusual words used. Which I plan on using in Charlie’s Homeschool Spelling Class. As well as having Charlie draw things he likes to invent in his Homeschool Art Class.
I love how God is throughout the book allowing us to share our Love of God with those we love and why we are all different. But we are also like God just as Charlie is and he also likes to invent things and used to create Robots and I’m hoping that after Charlie reads this story he will began inventing again which will work for a Homeschool Science Class.
This delightfully illustrated picture book tells the story of inventor extraordinaire Eva—and the God who created her to be a lot like Him.
Little Eva is a budding engineer who loves to invent machines, toys, and robots that bring her joy. But where does her curiosity, creativity, and pizzazz come from? Meet God. He loves to invent, too, and delights in His creations, especially Eva.
God and Eva are A LOT alike because God made Eva to be just like Him.
Eva loves her inventions, but maybe not their earlier versions. God loves Eva, every version of her, and He wants her to know just how much. Parents and children alike will relish the playful illustrations and the gentle reminder that the image of God is alive in each of us.
