The Mommies Reviews

(Sponsored) I would like to share a new book that I received a pdf copy of from Voracious Readers and the Author which is The Golden Scarab of Balihar. This book is written by Author Michael Grayford (Author). Inside this post are my affiliate links if you click on the links and make a purchase I will make a small percentage of the products you purchase.

I know we shouldn’t chose to read a book based on its cover but sometimes I do that. Do you? Which is why I wanted to read The Golden Scarab of Balihar which reminds me of one of my favorite Disney movies. Aladdin. Now that you’ve seen the cover of the book isn’t the blue pretty. I love the lady and her eyes which makes her look mysterious. I wish I could visit the Castel in the background. How about you?

The Golden Scarab of Balihar is a young adult fantasy and is a story of how a servant girl named Zahra helps saved the kingdom from an evil genie and captured the heart of the prince, Amir. At first you may think she is a brat but she turns into a good person. I love how there is nothing bad in the story and people of all ages would enjoy the book and like me be waiting for the second and third one to come out if the Author chooses to write more of this story.

Inside the story is drama, suspense and some might say there is romance which I am not going to answer because I want you to read the book on your own. My niece is 8 and into Princesses and I could even see reading this story to her at night before bedtime if I was able to spend time with her. If you love Princesses, bad guys and genies you need to check this book out and don’t forget to share it with your friends and family.

About the book:

The fate of a kingdom rests in the hands of a servant with no power but her will .In a kingdom surrounded by the ever-flowing sands of ancient Persia, servant girl Zahra’s world is upended when she interrupts a plot by the nefarious vizier to control the prince with dark magic. After accidentally causing Prince Amir to fall under a love spell meant for another, Zahra is forced to flee into the perilous desert sands.

With only a mysterious map leading the way, Zahra and love-struck Amir embark on a dangerous quest to find the mythical Golden Scarab and release the wish-granting jinni inside. Battling sandstorms and giant scorpions, they discover the hidden cave of Balihar and meet the cantankerous jinni Nadim. But claiming the relic comes at a cost, and soon betrayal and demons threaten to destroy the kingdom Zahra hoped to save.

With sharply drawn characters, evocative settings, and magical quests, this intricate fantasy conjures an alluring world. Readers will root for the fierce and defiant Zahra as she risks everything to lift an evil spell, fight for justice, and maybe even win the prince’s heart along the way.

This young adult action adventure novel, with plenty of heart and a generous sprinkling of humor, is the first in the Tales of Zahra series, but may be read as a standalone story.

About the author: Michael Grayford

I was born and raised a Florida swamp rat, but after graduating college, I ventured west and became a desert dweller. The lower humidity agreed with me, and I stayed.

I somehow convinced a company to hire me to program videogames, and I made that my profession for quite a while. I loved the games with rich worlds and stories the most. Now I’m trying something new – instead of writing code, I’m using that love of world-building, character development, and storytelling to write novels.

As a fan of fantasy and science fiction, those are the genres I focus on in my writing, with an emphasis on action and adventure. My goal is to spread some of the joy I get from reading by putting my own fantastical stories out into the world.

I hope you enjoy them!
