I am so excited as the The Firehouse Theatre to Celebrate 5-Year Anniversary with The Drowsy Chaperone. Now, that Charlie is Homeschooling full time we will be able to build lesson plans around the plays and not be stuck to workbooks all the time.

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – January 10, 2020 – One of Firehouse’s biggest hits is back to celebrate the theater’s five-year anniversary. The Firehouse Theatre will present the musical The Drowsy Chaperone January 30-February 23, 2020. Dallas darling Janelle Lutz appears courtesy of Actors’ Equity Association, returning from New York to reprise her starring role.
With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and THE DROWSY CHAPERONE begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theater producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight.
“Our patrons loved our first production of The Drowsy Chaperone in 2015 and have asked us to produce this show again every year,” says Artistic Director Derek Whitener. “We knew it was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary – especially since we’re now in the 20’s!” Firehouse will offer a champagne reception with hors d’oeuvres on Friday, January 31, 2020.
Show times are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night at 7:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 2:30 pm. Tickets start at $16 and can be purchased at the Box Office (972-620-3747) or online. Special ticket pricing for groups and students are available.
