Charlie, David and I were invited to attend The Firehouse Theatre to Celebrate 5-Year Anniversary with The Drowsy Chaperone. Played by Janelle Lutz who returns from New York to reprise her role.
My family loves watching plays here. The refreshments are always fresh and the Popcorn is so tasty. David enjoys having a drink before the Plays begin.
I like knowing the FireHouse Theater can become a tad bit cold. They provide blankets for us encase Charlie and I forget ours. Or our jackets aren’t keeping us warm enough.
No, matter where we’ve been seated we can always see the Stage and never have a problem hearing the Actors. Charlies favorite seat is on the back row and this is one time heights doesn’t bother Charlie or I.
I was able to make a spelling list and Vocabulary list for Charlie to do before we headed out to see the Drowsy Chaperone because I knew words like Chaperone would be something Charlie might not know.
Throughout the play Charlie made notes of the music and dancing he saw to go over this week in our Art class and music class. We even found the Album online we will be purchasing.
The Actor who was narrating the play did a fantastic job and Charlie said he wished he was our neighbor so he could learn about other Musicals through him.
David loved the Chaperone and her outfits and the way she talked. David enjoyed teaching Charlie about Probation and helping him look it up online for school.
I feel in love with the Couple and wanted to be there to support them in there mishaps. The Drowsy Chaperon is a play Musical we would like to attend again and to bring our friends and family to.
I wonder if The Drowsy Chaperone was a Musical my Uncle Chuck would have seen and what he would have thought of the play and why. Because I believe he would have loved The FireHouse Theaters performance and I know he would have wanted to meet the CHAPERONE and I am sure he would have wanted to invite her to dinner.
Charlie, has been asking if I can find out the dance moves they used which included Tap and if can sign up for classes. For me wanting to lose weight Tap classes would be the perfect addition to my exercise routine. Would you like to join us?
If you haven’t had the opportunity to see The Drowsy Chaperone I hope you take the time to because I know you will enjoy this show just as much as we did.

One of Firehouse’s biggest hits is back to celebrate the theater’s five-year anniversary! With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and THE DROWSY CHAPERONE begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight. Dallas darling Janelle Lutz returns from New York to reprise her starring role.
The full cast list is as follows: Lon Barrera as Main in Chair, Christia Caudle as Mrs. Tottendale, Doug Fowler as Underling, TJ Adams as Robert Martin, Preston Isham as George, Dan Servetnick as Mr. Feldseig, Hilary Evitt Allen as Kitty, Clint Gilbert as Tall Brother, Tim Brawner as Tall Brother, Hutner Lewis as Aldolfo, Janelle Lutz as Janet Van De Graaff, Elisa Danielle James as The Chaperone, Christian Houston as Trix, and Jason Craig West (for Saturday matinee shows) as Robert Martin US, with Christina Hoth, Marilyn Setu, Carissa Aguila, Rebecca Luby and Caitlin Jones in the Female Ensemble, and Taylor Owen, Gabriel Ethridge, Blake Seabourn, Jacob Rivera-Sanchez, and Gideon Ethridge in the Male Ensemble.
Media is invited to preview night. Contact Katherine Rose Watson (katierosewatson@gmail.com, 972-489-7694) to request tickets and/or to coordinate a feature.
