The Daily Family Conversation Starter: 365 Ways to Nurture Connection, Inspire Play, and Empower Your Kids by Katie Clemons

In our Homeschool for Creative Writing I’ve always used books that have a prompt to get Charlie to write something every day. I was so excited when I found out about The Daily Family Conversation Starter: 365 Ways to Nurture Connection, Inspire Play, and Empower Your Kids because it gets not only kids talking but families as the activities in the book can be done by everyone of any age each one only takes 5 minutes to complete.

My family keeps the book on our dinning room table and after Praying before dinner we open the book and complete one activity before eating. There is no, electronics allowed when working in the book which makes us communicate more. The activates are then written in Charlie’s Homeschool Creative Writing Notebook by him and I share our prompt and post on my Face book page to get families talking.

The more I dove into the book I even found things we could do in our PE Class like talking like a Robot can get us up and moving and acting like a Robot and for movie night we can find movies about Robots. I love how the Author gave us instructions on how to use the book and that she included a biography on herself allowing us to get to know her.

There was words my family didn’t know like raconteur we can add to our Homeschool Spelling List. I love how the Author challenges us to start today not tomorrow at the same time everyday for fourteen day and work through the book. This allows you to see what will and will not work for your family and give you time to make adjustments before diving back in.

The fun doesn’t stop when you close the book visit her website for more fun. When on the website check out the other books she has like MOTHER AND SON TOGETHER I was surprised to find because anywhere I look I see things for moms/ daughters but not son/ mothers. How about you? I signed up to receive a free family printable which my family will be doing each Sunday and discussing in Charlie’s Homeschool Reading Class.
