This morning I am feeling my age even though I like to believe I am in my 20’s. As a parent I knew we don’t like relying on our children to do things for me. But this morning the LORD reminded me I am not invisible.
We went to Canton Trade Days yesterday and we walked to much. I was able to get over 10,000 steps but this morning I am paying for it. I went to Walmart and couldn’t even walk.
I had to have a Scooter which I never thought I would use. I came home prepared to work but Charlie had everything I needed set out on the COunch so I could work.
As I thought about school this morning Charlie taught me it’s okay to not do school. out the things he did. Charlie got our Art paper and drew a picture for my office. Got our lunch and brought a book to read to me.
After Charlie went into his room to play his game and as I was sitting on the couch I heard Charlie reading and singing to the dogs. Even though we didn’t work in workbooks or on the Computer I could see Charlie still learning through the thing he was doing.
David even gave Charlie a quick lesson on how to order a Pizza for him and I for dinner and how to pay for it using my Paypal card so I could rest and not be bothered.
I would like to thank the Lord for reminding me it’s okay to not be okay as I have two men who love me and will take care of me. As well as lots of friends to check on me.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
Awww! What a sweet story!! And I agree – it’s okay t not be okay, to rest, and let your family take care of you. Have a great weekend!
What an amazing Charlie to help you out! He is learning so much other than bookwork for sure.
So wonderful of the two men in your life!! And hope you are feeling better soon… It is definitely ok to not be ok, and to just not do the expected…
