In our Hometown there are two staples when your looking for a Hamburger Griff’s and Clown Burger. Which was sold to a new owner and opened yesterday. From the buzz on Facebook yesterday I thought they would be packed. We left our home at 10:30 to get in line. But we was able to get right in as there wasn’t a long line. Thank the LORD because we were hungry.
We was blessed when our Cousin David Marshall joined us for lunch along with my sister. I gathered everyone’s orders so all of us didn’t have to get into line. The owner was very hands on from taking orders to helping the cook, and making sure the staff was in the best place to make sure things flowed smoothly.
Like all new restaurants there were plenty of hiccups including there Soda Fountain not working but can drinks was fine. To the Meat truck breaking down. I placed our order and had fun talking to and joking with the other guests. The lady at the register was a little flustered and from working there in the past I wanted to jump behind the counter and ring up our order.
No, I didn’t do it but another guest felt the same way. The decorations looked the same and brought back a lot of memories making me miss Suzzane even more. Part of our order arrived and I felt bad because my Cousin’s Hamburger was missing but the order was corrected pretty fast. Some of the first burgers that came out weren’t completely done while mine and my sister’s was overcooked. Not, only that my Burger was dry when it should have had Mayo and we got Veggies we didn’t ask for.
All of this was easy to fix and again it was there first day. We will be back because living in Haltom City the Clown Burger is a staple. For me the most fun part of the day was being able to share the food with my son who hadn’t ever been. I did miss the old Fries they had before. But the ones they serve are from Fresh Potato’s and a little fat which was yummy. My mom would have been so excited to find out they didn’t use Frozen Fries.
If your out and about in Fort Worth or Dallas and looking for a good oold fashioned greasy Hamburger and Fries make sure you stop by the Clown Hamburger but if you want a Shake you will have to bring your own. Here is a tip for you I looked at the Menu before going in and had our order planned out.
My sister wanted the small Hamburger but once we got inside we was told there all one size. For my sister and I we could have split one Burger and been full. If you have hungry men like in my home there is a double, triple, four meat, 5 meat and yes, even a 6 meat Burger. Just don’t order the Grilled Onions like I had thought of doing as there 50 cents which isn’t much but for me its a lot.
I can’t wait to to go back and try there Chili Cheeseburger or a Bacon Cheeseburger. I just wish my parents was here to have dinner with us. If you enjoy old time Rock n Roll you should stay for lunch as the music brings you back to the good old days. For those of us who doesn’t like to be inside there is even a table outside to sit at. Although, its a little high for me and my sister.
In the meantime have a blessed day and please give the Clown Burger a try because we need more businesses to come to Haltom City and if the ones we have stay and survive hopefully other businesses will follow suit. Especially a grocery store which we don’t have and yes, we are in the middle of Fort Worth so you would think we would have one or two but nope not us. Only Alid’s.
FYI:
I was to excited and hungry to get pictures this time but I will when we go back….
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
