Charlie, David and I were able to visit The Firehouse Theater in Farmers Branch, Texas where we was able to watch The Boyfriend a family friendly musical this weekend.
For my family there were a few treats when we attended The Boyfriend some I knew about and some I didn’t. Once we arrived we were led to the waiting area where they were serving Chocolate and Champagne.
David was able to get a glass of Champagne and then we shared my glass because I was saving room for the fresh popped popcorn I was smelling. I liked knowing they had Wine for sale if David wanted a glass.
Charlie went to check out the concessions and he found quite a few different candy bars he would have liked to have. Charlie purchased a Snickers and also took one of the Pink Tootsie Roll Pops they had for the audience.
Surprise… Surprise… Surprise I was good. I didn’t get any of the chocolates and I didn’t ask Charlie for any of his candy. Nor did I eat any from the Valentine boxe we received. I was so proud of myself.
While we were waiting to go inside the auditorium we were told there were Swing Dancers out front performing. It was a cold night so I didn’t venture out to watch them but Charlie did. Once Charlie came back inside he let me know loved the dances they put on and that he would like to take Swing Dance Lessons.
Once The Boyfriend begin it was fun explaining the costumes and dance moves to Charlie. I found Charlie tapping his feet to the music and before I knew it I was also singing because the songs were so catchy.
I fell in love with the story they were telling through the play. I could tell both Charlie and David did as well. During the intermission Charlie kept asking me how long until they would resume the play.
This showed me Charlie was enjoying The Boyfriend and this is one play Charlie would like to see again and so would I. As we were leaving the auditorium David said he would like to return and see The Boyfriend again.
Charlie, David and I were impressed that they gave each couple a box of Valentine chocolates with a number on the box. If we had won we would have gotten tickets to upcoming plays.
Before you ask me no, we didn’t win. we were 4 numbers off but that is okay because I was able to show Charlie and David upcoming plays and they have agreed to purchase tickets so we can come back.

I can tell you if we were still Homeschooling full time there were a lot of lessons we could have learned through this play from the dances to the music along with studying the Roaring 20’s. Now here is a fun tidbit about me I wish I was born during that era as I love the clothes, probation and the Mafia.
