I was sent a copy of The Book of Patience: 250 Ways To A More Patient You written by Courtney Ackerman in exchange for this review.
For anyone who knows me know PATIENCE isn’t something I was granted with. When I want something I want it know and I don’t want to wait. Or if I want to go somewhere there is no, tomorrow it has to be done today. Are you like that as well?
I knew Homeschooling Charlie would take a ton of Patience due to his ADHD otherwise we would butt heads and nothing would get done. After Praying I remembered I had The Book of Patience: 250 Ways To A More Patient You.
When David left for work I went into the Living Room grabed my blanket and pillow with my favorite beverage and crawled into David’s chair. I begin to read the book.
I let Charlie know not to bother me until I finished reading the first chapter but by the time I got to the end of it I wanted to read the second chapter and before I knew it I was half-way through the book and the morning was partly over.
But through The Book of Patience: 250 Ways To A More Patient You ad the notes I made I knew I could teach Charlie without yelling and screaming and that even using the techniques in the book would help me and David get along better.
Which is a GOD send. I had honestly thought David and I were heading to a Divorce and that isn’t what I wanted or Charlie needed. Not that anyone knew how bad we were struggling as I was holding everything in.
I will not be doing that anymore because it isn’t healthy for me or the people I love. From not on I am going to walk away from things that stress me out or don’t make me happy.
I love how The Book of Patience: 250 Ways To A More Patient You give us things to do and we will be doing the Exercises in the morning as a family before David leaves for work.
Because I believe The Book of Patience: 250 Ways To A More Patient You will also help David and Charlie remain more patient and learn how to walk away from things that bother them.
Charlie and I’ve even decided to add The Book of Patience: 250 Ways To A More Patient You to our Reading Class and to put the book inside our Homeschool Library so it’s always close at hand.
